I don't understand the rant. The OEB isn't even an AKC. I'm for having some form of open stud book and even outcross projects, but that isn't going to end breed specific health problems. Health testing, tracking diseases (ones that can't be tested for), using EVBs and breeding for moderate type (in breeds that have since exaggerating structure causing issues) is going to help reduce breed specific problems. American Bullies are not an AKC breed and some people are still actively crossing within them, yet they are one of the most unhealthy breeds generally anyway. It is down to irresponsible breeders when you don't health tests, breed for deformities, breed for profit, ect several reasons out there that are detrimental to breeds. There are moderate breeders within brachy breeds producing dogs that don't suffer and are free/self whelping. Some breeders actually care and are trying to truly better the breed, which doesn't simply mean having the best conformation dog, they go for the total package. So while I agree with some points, it seems the ranting is a little displaced.
