My favorite has always been a German Shepherd Dog. A close second is a Golden Retriever.

Default Bbd

Black Lab or Lab mix. I think the blacks are the prettiest because they are so shiney.

I love my boxer! He's the greatest dog with the children, is so loving, is so much fun, and is just a wonderful part of our family. I also love doberman pinschers; I think they are strikingly beautiful, especially the red ones. I'd never own one, though, as I'm too lax with training. But, I sure love others'!

Nana was a Newfoundland dog. See James M. Barrie, Peter Pan, Ch. 1 (1904). Mr. Barrie's Landseer "Porthos" is reputed to be the model for Nana.

They are really beautiful, aren't they?

Growing up we had an angel of a GSD, and a completely nutty chihuahua. People who came in the yard hesitated because of Blackie, but they were unaware that the real danger, Frenzy (the Chi), was hiding 'round the corner, waiting to pounce on them! What a team they were. Poor people...Blackie would've slept through WWII.

And of course, JRTs because they're just hilarious and wild.

There are so many lost dogs in shelters, I'd have to go with Racelady88 - I prefer a Kinardly !!!!

Really sweet, terrific dogs! Drool a lot and shed like crazy, so get ready! They are really huge, lovable bears. Great choice!

True, but as a child I saw the Disney cartoon in which she was depicted as a Saint Bernard. But I love Newfies, too. And I think an OES would be great as Nana, too.
