I have a Lhasa Apso and I'm trying to find a better bathing product then what I am using to help keep him smelling fresher longer. He's an inside dog, but he just has an odd scent to him that I would rather lose. I'm currently using Gold Medal Plus Revolutionary Fomula 30 w/Cadoplex Oatmeal Soothing Shampoo. I have also tried the Pro Pet 4 in 1 Formula Mixed Berry hoping that the berry smell would help. I bath him about once a month just to help with the smell and he likes taking a shower. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

Earthbath Mediterranean Magic (available at pet boutiques or natural pet stores.)

Professional deodorizing grooming shampoos: Double K's Griminator, Kelco's Filthy Animal, Laube's Wild Thing. (Ask your local groomer to order it for you or sell you some of theirs.)

I change them up and often choose an oatmeal-based shampoo, but this last one is my fave and I think I'll be sticking with it for quite a while.

I don't have a stinky problem with my dogs, and I don't bathe them very often, it's more just to get all the dirt off them once in a while (they have very short coats). This Castor & Pollux is very mild and has only a slight scent - very natural smelling.

If your dog has odor, it more likely related to food that you feeding. No shampoo will kill that. As far as all the scented stuff, i would stay away, they're not "natural", nothing with scent is natural.
I get my dogs regular soap free Aloe or Oatmeal shampoo. Work great and doesn't irritate their skin.

Most dog odors have a source. You may have already checked these things, but just in case: Does he have a dental problem? Dogs lick themselves and dental odors end up on their coat. Have you checked his anal glands? His ears? You may want to mention the odor to your vet. Some diseases cause the dog to have a funny smell.

That being said, when you bathe him, do you dry him with a dryer or let him dry naturally? Sometimes drying with a dryer helps.

I absolutely second this recommendation!!! I love this stuff! I have been using this for years and have tried DOZENS of others and nothing comes close to Lambert and Kays.

That's interesting to know. He doesn't have any dental issues, his ears seem to be fine as well.

I dry him with a towel for the most part and then let him run around like a wild man to finish the job...he doesn't like the dryer at all.

My groomer swears by Espree shampoo and conditioners. I use their milk & honey shampoo and it works really good.
