Anyone watch these shows? What do you think? Just thought it would be interesting for people to weigh in.

I can't watch dog shows much: my pug goes NUTS with dogs on TV. But I do have an abiding dislike for Cesar Millan. His methods are not safe and I don't think he teaches his 'clients' really how to deal with the behaviors that might be residual problems after he leaves!

I watch both when I can, I think both of them bring a lot to the table. Many times Cesar is dealing with "last chance" dogs who face possible euthanasia. Victoria generally deals with dogs with major disipline problems but have yet reached the "red zone". I think we can learn from both of their methods.

I haven't heard about dog whisperer. But we are huge fans of kind but firm Victoria. Finally the idea ofthe owner being the problem and not the "bad dog" is spreading around!

They both have their good points but I don't like Cesar's alpha roll, which I have only seen him do a very few times. I don't think that helps but then I'm not the one on TV with a big show!

Mimosa, Victoria is the trainer on It's me or the Dog, which airs on Animal Planet. She is absolutely wonderful. Yeah, I have thought it was "amazing" that the sssssstt thing works so perfect every time, LOL!

I like Victoria, because her instructions you can actually use and work for people that have no idea about dogs. I've had dogs since I was little, and when I watch Cesar, I'm like, "what? I don't get it." I guess I like Victoria because she's just all no nonsense and common sense.

I absolutely agree!!! I like Victoria Stilwell and her methods FAR more than Cesar Milan. He seems arrogant to me.

Also, Victoria really tries to understand the issues that are going on with the owners and help them, as well. Last night's shows are perfect examples -- she worked with the couple who have the five pugs on trust issues and even took them to a climbing wall to teach them a lesson on trust and working together! In the other show, she took the girl who kept bringing home dogs to an animal shelter and encouraged her to volunteer there instead of taking in strays herself. Victoria is more practical and offers really good solutions.

I've personally tried some of her techniques and they work well.
