I am thinking 'Tick-a-Tick-a-Tick' the sounds, not the words for my next dog.

I had a friend who named her dog Deohgie. Get it? D-O-G. LOL Personally, if I ever had a dog (unlikely), I always thought that I would name it something like WOO HOO so that if it ever ran away and I was looking for it through the neighborhood his name would travel farther than say....fido. You can holler WOO HOO much louder than Fido.

Anyway. In the past I have usually named my pets people-names, but given them nick-names too.

My dog's name is Rammer Jammer Bear. We call him R.J. Bear for short. We're big time University of Alabama fans around here.

Cat pairs I've found and re-homed:

Halley and Comet (mom/daughter)

Bell and Pepper (mom/daughter)

The dog's names... not so creative. I seem to never get dogs in pairs.

But I have 3 rat brothers: Alvin, Simon, and Theodore.

My dog is named Mac. It's short for Macanudo, after the brand of cigar. When we adopted him from a rescue, he was shaped like a cigar!

This reminds me of my mothers penchant for recycling pet names. She has had several dogs & cats named Lady, Angel, Princess and Queenie. When she starts to talk about pets, we always have to clarify which Princess, Lady, Angel or Queenie she is talking about.
Mom, are you referring to the shepard or the poodle?

I always liked cute names like Cookie, Gizmo, Schmoo, etc.... My brother likes to name his pets after places like Berlin or Paris. A friend likes to name their pets after famous designers like Lauren, Vera, etc....

Default Creative enough?? LOL

My current dog is Mic (Mick) as in Crocodile Dundee.

My Cat is Cally and she is a Calico cat. Her legal name is pronounced Cal-E-Co (spelled Calico with an accent over the I).

The dog before Mic was Mr. Spock... we called him Spocky. He was a beagle/basset mix. Basset body and beagle head... great dog. Lived to be 15 and played everyday including the day he passed.

And finally the dog before Mr. Spock was Nutmeg... called nutsy for short. She was a Boxer (with huge issues - bad breeder). At the age of seven she was stolen from our back yard and used as bait to train fighting dogs.

Our dog's name is Ammo. It isn't an extremely creative name, but how many other Ammos do you know?
