Zugor, I like the idea of Piper, those type names make the best ones....it's really up to the individual, how they're treated is more important, I don't think the animal cares what you call them.. stinky poo was my cat's nickname even though she was Daisy Mae officially..

One of my mom's pugs has a bit of a weight problem (she eats everything....including drywall, the sides of the doors, carpet, furniture etc.) and although her name is Maddie, everyone just calls her Fattie Mae.

We have a shelter dog that we named Shiva, which is very appropriate, since it's the hindu god of destruction... she fits the name well.

I've always found it interesting when people give their animals common 'human' names. I had a friend whose dogs were named Mark and Leslie.

border collie X Cattle dog--Jazz- because she is quite a jazzy looking girl
Border collieX springer spaniel---Dash -because when I got him past owner had not taught him not to Dash out an open door

Aussie --Phoenix- she came with the name and has kept it as she is a homozygous merle so deaf with vision problems so like the true Phoenix she has risen out of the ashes

Silken Windhound-- Dazzle- because he is a Fancy Prancy Razzle Dazzle kind of guy
