Has anyone themselves or known someone that treated their dog with cannabis for their tumors? Please advise.

I would suggest asking some of the top vet hospitals more likely ones with vet schools. While MOST human treatments are the same in dogs, there are some exceptions because of the physical differences. For example, smooth muscle versus striated in the throat.

They would know the current research and in fact DO some of the medical research on live animals.

Also, the fact that it's illegal Federally and almost every state is limiting. Especially considering the funding sources.

They would be:

Angell
Tufts
Cornell
U of P
MSU
UC Davis
LSU
Texas Tech

Good luck!

I'm not all that knowledgeable, but I thought in humans marijuana was used for managing side effects of chemo and improving appetite, not for shrinking tumors. Please jump in if I'm wrong, someone.

There have been some studies in labs showing that marijuana may have the ability to kill or slow the growth of some types of leukemia cells. However, these studies have all been done in petri dishes in labs. There are no actual studies in humans that I know of.

There have also been some animal studies but the the drug is used both in a pure form and delivered in amounts that would not be available by prescription or on the street.

The use of marijuana is mainly used for the side effects of chemo.
And marijuana does have cancer -preventing- properties.
It's not been used to treat cancer.
There are different kinds of cancer as well, some are easier to treat with alternative methods.

I'd like to see documentation on these studies. A high dosage would be dangerous for a dog. I'd like to see how it was administered and at what quantity.

Yeah I thought that too. Then I saw an article where a mom moved to CO so her son could have medicinal and she claims he's in remission.

I think it was this one.

I don't have any particular interest in the subject but happened to see it on a sidebar on some site last week.

I didn't bother to google it though for further confirmation so I don't know if that's the deal really, or not.
