I don't see an office visit charge on her bill from 2 weeks ago. Maybe the office charge was waived because he did a bunch of other stuff.

Here's some procedures he did you can compare prices to. I'm in the Greater L.A. metro area.

Anesthesia: 85.00
Injection (for vomiting and diarrhea) 60.00
Lab (blood): 150.00
Phys Exam: 20.00
X-rays: 100.00
Parvo test: 50.00

We live in a very rural area. Last week, my youngest got her 3-year rabies, a toenail clip and exam. The bill was $36.50. Our vet and her entire staff are top-notch, too. They offer a "family discount" if you have 3 or more animals; and, since I have 3 dogs, this does help.

mine is about $40 as well. $20 for new customers. that seems to include all the routine stuff except vaccinations and nail clipping (my dog doesn't need nail clipping anyway since she's a city dog and walks on sidewalks a lot).

i usually end up spending $60-$100 on her annual exam depending on what vaxes she gets. plus i usually get her arthritis prescription refilled.

55 bucks just for 'exam fee.'

Annual with shots, deworm, etc, is usually 250 bucks.

$40 per visit. I did notice the last time we were there, both dogs were seen. They did not charge more. Just the $40 plus shots.

yeah, my vet will only charge one exam fee for 2 animals at the same time as well.

also, a while ago when my cats all got an upper respiratory problem of some kind, he just saw one and gave me medicine for all the other ones based on their weights.

My old vet didn't charge one for the rescue. Not sure what others paid. In Florida it was $55 to walk through the door.

The new veet charges $15 for a basic quick exam or $25 for a full exam.

Just looked at my vet bill from the other day and thought I would post a few of the expenses: (I took my kitty in for a possible upper respitory infection)

Zeniquin 25mg 5 tablets (anitbiotic) 19.25
Exam 50.36
Life stage blood work (senior) 94.96 (included ups delivery charge)

I live in an area of about 100,000 people.

A regular wellness exam is about 35.00 and if I take my two dogs in at the same time I'm only charged for one exam.

$35 to walk in the door and 'see' the vet....if your dog is having something done that is handled by a tech - no office visit fee is applied. I take my training partner in every 6 months to get the required Kennel Cough vaccine - and it's a flat $15 each time I go - but we see a tech and we're there less than 5 minutes

Heck - I pay a similar fee to my personal doctor - even if all he's doing is making sure I'm still standing on 2 feet, for my required prescription renewal that I've taken for 15+ years now
