We are here in Houston & we pay $48.50 for the 3 dogs per night. Thats for two kennels that are back to back with a slider in between that they open so all three dogs can be together. I think I'd faint if I got a bill for over $700.00 for 5 days of boarding

But this is in an expensive major metropolitan area, where real estate is expensive so the operating expenses of kennels is high. But the salaries of pet owners are usually pretty high too, so it doesn't seem so expensive.

Are you sure it isn't an error on your bill? It might be worth asking. There's always a chance it was a mistake and they didn't intend to bill you for both boarding and daycare.
I was hoping it was a billing error. No such luck.

This was not in a metropolitan area, but it was in the wealthiest county in the country, Teton County, WY. I suppose in a town where the average home price is over $1 million, $713 for a week of boarding is no big deal for most people.

I live in a rural area and the two closest airports are Jackson Hole (32 miles away) and Idaho Falls (70 miles away). They're both small and expensive to fly out of. I have no complaints at all about the care my dogs received in Jackson, but since the staff at the Idaho Falls kennel provides the same excellent care for about 1/3 the price, we'll be going there.

$45 a night to stay with the trainer and her dogs. Worth every penny!
