This will be our first full summer with Darcy. We like to walk at the park, but I am looking forward to taking her to the dog beach. She loves to be around other dogs, so it should be fun for her. The humane assn. where we adopted her has play dates almost every week, but she doesn't like to go back there, so it's just the park for now and a few road trips.
We used to do a lot together: go to dog parks, jogging, training, agility, etc....but he's so old now (not the only one ~), I get immense joy out of seeing him back to his old self playing frisbee if only just for a few minutes, running in circles around the couch, barking through the fence at the neighbor's dog. Then when they start barking, he runs back in the house, entirely pleased with himself. Just regular daily stuff.
But most of all, I love to hear him snore, which he's just started doing this year. Cute!
My dog suddenly became a kleptomaniac....but he only steals MY stuff lol. I like to put things in places to see how much he'll go through to steal them, and I record him on video. He's a smart little booger. If something he wants is on my bed, he climbs up my comforter and strains to reach it rather than just jumping on the bed, grabbing the item and running off. I think he thinks he's in "stealth" mode, and that if he crawls or climbs to steal, I don't see him lol.
Nanners and I like to chill together during the work week. We're both expert chillers. I also like to take her to the avocado property, where she follows me around and explores stuff, chases rabbits/squirrels, or tries to get nosy with the horses.
Cuddling in bed at night with 90-lb. collie Baxter. Just say "night-night" and he's off and running to bed to snuggle with hubby and me. He sleeps soundly all night.
Although the walks and the exercise may be their favorite activities. One of mine is their twice weekly brush and grooming sessions. Both our pups just love to be brushed. They also flip and turn with just a little direction from me so I can get all areas. It almost puts them to sleep and is very relaxing for me.
On a higher energy note....watching my Chessie do her "dive dog drop" into the swimming pool is always fun to watch. DH doesn't find that one as enjoyable though since he is usually the target in the pool she is aiming for!
.... oh, the mental image.....
