That's a shame because that would have been really cool! I still have hope for Duluth's future though! I think (and hope) that it will all work out eventually!

As far as the AT&T tower goes, is it just the tower being dismantled or are they closing down the entire building? Is there offices in the bottom or anything? Because maybe it could be redeveloped into something new and better.

No offices closing down there. They will stay open. Heck, just the other day the Duluth News Tribune reported that the tower is going to stay up a bit longer. There are people in Wisconsin dependent on the signals it sends out till they can be upgraded to newer technologies by AT&T.

Is realife Coop one of the newer senior condo/apartment complexes in Duluth? I'm thinking of the new one on Trinity between the Mall and LSC.

Starting to tear down the old KBJR building Superior Street downtown today, also the old gas station and Lutheran Church next to it out on Grand is being torn down near the bus station.

The old rec building with the skating rink? is also torn down near the same area. Comumity center? On Grand Ave.

I know it's obvious about the new Maurice's Building...last time I was down in Duluth I did a 10 mile hike from the new start of the Lakewalk at Brighton Beach and walked to 21st Ave West. From the Arena I could see there was a building knocked down near the skywalk near 2nd Ave W & Michigan - I was told it'll be the new Greyhound Bus Depot and DTA Transit Center. If this light rail goes from Minneapolis to Duluth, will that serve as a stop for that as well? I think Skyline Shuttle will also be based out of there.

I saw a similar place in Windsor, Ontario, a 'multimodal transit Center' which had its own police substation, served buses, trains, airport shuttles, etc and was staffed 24/7, had free wifi and had something like a Dunkin Donuts. If Duluth gets something like that, it'd be great. Because of how long the city is, it's confusing that the bus depot is out on 46th Ave W; the Skyline Shuttle picks up at the Arena and on 27th Ave W, etc...having everything at one central downtown location like most cities will cut down on that confusion. I looked at the plans on the DTA website and once it's done it should be pretty nice.

Oh one other thing, we went past the Tavern on the Hill and saw new construction there on a Woodland Avenue across from UMD. I've heard of everything from a Tim Hortons to a Dunkin Donuts to a new YMCA - YWCA Fitness Center going in there. Based on the size of what I saw, I doubt it's going to be a new 'Y', as that would require a lot more room. We stopped by the Tavern and while the service was great and I wish them the best, the food was just so-so.

Minor point, but the Greyhound/Jefferson station no longer exists at 46th. That whole block is in the process of redevelopment. The corner at 45th is a nearly completed Subway and Whole Foods Co-op is building their second store soon as well.
