Anytime a politician(s) try to master plan an economy it never works. Free market is most efficient at allocating resources. If the mortgages aren't worth anything then the bank should take the loss. If the bank is insolvent they should go bust, period.

USSR tried to master plan their economy as well and look what happened to them. Unfortunately, we are on the same path and there is nothing we can do to stop it.
Agreed. We are in a very dangerous territory right now. We need to let these big corporations fail. Sure, it will be painful for a few years but then we will rebound. Instead they keep trying to prop up these large institutions and its breaking our backs. If we keep bailing them out then they have nothing to lose by screwing up. Same with homeowners who bought more than they can afford. We shouldn't throw money at them either. They should rent, move in with family, or whatever.

Also, we should not try to stabilize the housing market. They want to keep prices where they are now.. but they are still too high. Let them go down to where people can afford them and that is how you will stabilize the housing market. Don't just keep throwing money at it.

Frank was so defensive when that student was asking him a question. That kid asked a serious question in a respectful way and he deserved a respectful answer. Instead, you've got Elmer Fudd, spewing hate and getting defensive. I find it interesting that Barney Frank and his likes get so bent out of shape at "hate" speech and labels, yet he was so quick to label that bright young man as a "right winger." That exchange in itself made Frank look worse than any investigation or Congressional hearing ever could. What a jerk.

It really just shows that unless he is controlling the time ;conversation and without talking points he is a babbling politican. He needs to stick to congressal hearings. I thnik he was waiting for his words on fannie mae and mac to come out unless he confessed it.

I've gotten more rep points on this thread than any other. I've made some really good posts...long ones on other threads but didn't get any rep points. I've gotten 4 on here alone. This tells me Barney Frank is a piece of trash! Can I get some more rep points now?
