Default Steer clear of Texas

The public schools here have been cutting back for 5 straight years. But that teabagger Perry still managed to run the budget $27B into the red this year, with no explanation. Schools will take the brunt of the cutbacks as a result. We're looking at massive layoffs, huge class sizes, and no textbooks/supplies.

Thank you Rick Perry. You're a prince.

That's terrible. His pay should be based on performance as well.

Try looking outside of the country.

For real. Any country where internet users commonly misspell and use incorrect grammar, and then b*tch out anyone who points out their mistakes, clearly does not value education- or knowledge for that matter.

But, it's ok. God takes care of children, fools, and the United States.

I realize this is off topic but...you do realize that people don't consider internet or texting to be formal writing, right? People tend to write the way they talk when on boards like this or texting. Since we don't think to differentiate between the spelling of two, to and too when speaking, often we don't think about it in conversational typing.

So using profanities is more acceptable than making spelling/grammar mistakes on the internet? Just curious.

Funny how Liberals interpret "valuing schools" as continuing to throw vast amounts of money at them--even though studies have proved that better educational achievement is not correlated to more money spent (after the basics are provided).

Schools would be a lot better today if they focused on discipline instead of entertainment, real-world subject matter experts instead of "education majors" who are authorize to teach any class, pushing advanced students rather than investing a fortune in the absolute worst, and critical thinking skills relevant to modern life rather than social engineering.

It's just lazy and shows a lack of respect for the reader. Write for meaning, or why bother writing at all?
