3 more Walmarts for El Paso - El Paso Inc.: Local News
The new Walmart is open on Doniphan - with new carts that don't have wonky wheels. My local grocery shopping choices have now expanded to 2 Albertsons and 3 Walmarts. Yea!

I spoke to a great sales associate at Sam's on the Gateway this past Saturday. He mentioned that they were opening a Sam's in the Northeast. Does anyone know if this is true and where?

They said back in January there is one planned for the southeast corner of Gateway North and Diana.

El Paso Development News: Sam’s Gets City Approval for Northeast El Paso Store

They had to get special permission from the City Council--an exemption from a city ordinance--to sell alcoholic beverages at the store because Transmountain High School is just across Diana from the site. I don't know when construction will start.

"Special permission" is what they call bribery now? What really transpired was the Walmart Corporation (they own the Sam's Club brand) paid this city an exorbitant amount of money to build in that location. This city sells out so much it is just ridiculous.

How much did Walmart pay and to which city department?

I'd prefer one, too. Too bad we don't have one- nearby or otherwise.
