When I was a tot, this star was symbolic it meant Christmas today it is one of El Paso's best treasured icons.

The Aligators are one of El Paso's LOST TREASURES, there was always a crowd of spectators surrounding the Aligator pond back in the days.

Great pic's Muhnay

For me the Star was a symbol of Freedom, Remember when they kept it lit till all the hostages were released, and everyone had yellow ribbons on trees. And yes it was also a symbol for Christmas.

I remember it was early November 1979 when the hostages were taken, I was a young sailor then and I had subscribe to both El Paso Times and the El Paso Herald Post were they both printed that star on the mountain and the flag on the bank building downtown would be lighted every night.

I myself quit smoking in tribute to the hostages.

Default El Passeaux

El Passeaux -

Thanks very much for these last two photos - your a) nighttime photo of the city with the star lit up and the vast sky, and b) Juarez-El Paso photo are two of my favorite El Paso photos I have ever seen.

I love that view of the Juarez Mountains where it has the Biblical reference.

I would love to see more High Schools built around the concept of El Paso High. They take up less land and are more secure than the sprawling ones we have all over the city.

Oh Yeah great pictures Levow.

Im really big into old stadiums too, i love Ysletas football stadium, old stadiums have so much character, they stand out right away, i know you were trying to get pics of more football stadiums in the ep, pics of old football battles would be cool too, [for example, pics you would find like on old yearbooks]CLASSIC rivalries, like EL Paso High vs Austin, Irvin vs Andress, Eastwood vs Coronado etc etc...
