I thought I heard they are going to build a Taco Tote by the Outlet Mall. They definitely need some restaurants there. My other 2 that i have tried and liked are Carnitas Queretaro and Forti's off I-10 and Chelsea.

No --- I've taken out-of-town guests to the one on Mesa and they loved it. They even insisted they need to get one of those where they live.

There are restaurants out there -- lots of kind of interesting "hole-in-the-walls" on Doniphan that probably have some of the more authentic Mexican meals.

Nope. She really liked Barriga's, but she raved about taco tote.

Thumbs up Best Mexican Restaurant in El Paso

Carnitas Queretero is my favorite. No atmosphere at all - it's in an old Pizza Hut building. But the food is outstanding.

I will second that. I personally prefer the smaller, more mom-and-pop hole-in-the-wall Mexican joints here than Carnitas Queretero, but for a more chain type place (I believe there are 3 in EP), Carnitas is great!

I don't know about everyone else here, but I like Barriga's for atmosphere, margaritas, etc., on a warm night in EP, but the food is too hoity-toity for my tastes. I love more authentic, home-cooked EP cooking I guess. But I have never been to the Barriga's in Jaurez, only EP.
