In English, usually Ell pass-oh. In Spanish, more like El Pah-so. The second pronunciation is definitely around, but if not from a real Spanish speaker, it sounds a bit contrived.

Overall, English-speaking people in El Paso are generally more attuned to Spanish pronunciations than others - even compared to English-speaking Hispanics in other areas (i.e. in east Texas, southern California Spanish names tend to get mangled all around). But for some reason, El Paso gets a pass as the English pronunciation is so well-known, even though the smaller places around it almost always get Spanish pronunciations.

I've seen old videos from the 50's where the narrator pronounces it Los Angeleees. In the 50's, they were still trying to figure out how it would be pronounced.

El Paso's pronunciation has always been pretty straight forward.
