Typically, they begin in March and blow for 5 or 6 weeks or so; BUT, some years it seems they blow all summer long.

My friend took advantage of price & warranty incentive GM is having, and now the finish on his car is destroyed, thanks to this dastardly wind!

The wind on the far east is close to hurricane speeds with sand in the place of rain. But I'll take wind over calm anyday. To bad it's not like this during the summers (so I've heard)..

And worrying about little things like washing the car or not is funny. When that's something you have to worry about.

Tell your friend to use the hurting housing market and get a home with a garage.

I think the winds are finished for this season.

I guess spring in some places is better in some ways with gentle spring rains, melting snow, quiet breezes, and green grass and trees everywhere. Well -- if you forget about that spring is tornado season also. We're lucky that we're just west of where tornadoes are and all we get from hurricanes is some rain.

It's practically May and we haven't had a warm day yet. It can be windy until the weather turns warm and that has to be any day now.

You think El Paso has a hurting housing market? The listings of foreclosures that I periodically acquire seems to be more than cut in half lately. Values seem to be slowly climbing, regardless of economy.

If that is true, then this is good news!

There is something wierd going on. I live in central Texas and I cannot remember so much wind for so many months at a time and almost every day. It is definitely getting old, but at least it keeps things cooler. In my opinion, that's one consolation.
