Long article in the WAPO that analyzes some of the personal reasons Obama is having so much difficulty at this stage. His elusive personality has prevented him from cultivating the kind of personal and professional relationships required in any succeessful politician, let alone POTUS.

Enigmatic, Sphinx-like, self-centered to the point of being egotistical, cool to the point of being cold, ideologically inconsistant, tone-deaf to others' needs, Obama failed to connect with people and lay the kind of support foundation that came naturally to Bill Clinton and GWB. Consequently, now that he needs help, few are willing to go out on a limb for him.

Nobody in Washington likes Obama, except his family and his dog, and he doesn't seem to care.

The president’s supreme confidence in his intellectual abilities...
Now that's a truly sad statement, given the fact the guy's a douche.

He's getting the "Please don't campaign for me" approach like he's the plague too.

Hmmm, that should be a message to the Dems/ his supporters to wake up.

Too late to dump him- looks like if the ship goes down, we'll be on it.

On the bright side for us Lefties, the way the GOP is going, Obama may run unopposed

I think you meant aloof instead of elusive. Or maybe you meant his personality is elusive, as in mercurial. Nicotine will do that; make you jittery for want of, then cool when you've had your hit. Until the next need spiral hits him.

Gee, whoda thunk the description of Obama nicely matches the criteria for Narcissitic Personality Disorder?
