The Race Is Still Romney's

The fundamentals of Mitt Romney's presidential campaign are strong. Even in the wake of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich's surging momentum in South Carolina, the fact remains that Romney is the overwhelming front-runner for the Republican nomination -- and Saturday's primary won't do anything to change that.

Yes, it certainly is.

And, in the general election, he absolutely has a good chance.

I just responded to a post by one of the Obamatron elitists on this forum where he said he doesn't understand why anyone considers this election (when speaking of the general election) to be a contest at all and demanded that those of us who are Republicans and Romney supporters "get used to it." LMAO

Romney has very little chance of winning the presidency. It would require Ron Paul's supporters backing him. The number of those who would get behind Romney is a small percentage. The majority will write in Ron Paul, vote Gary Johnson, or stay home. That equals Romney losing IF he gets the nomination.

Even without the Ron Paul supporter issue, independents will go for Obama over Romney.

Republicans can get behind Ron Paul and win, or they can try to push Romney and lose.

The majority will vote for an official candidate.

Every poll indicates otherwise. Romney leads Obama with independents by large margins.

Look at the polls. Oh wait, I forgot - Paulbots live in their own world and don't care to.

Americans by and large only have good short-term memories. After the GOP debates are over, most people will forget about the craziness.

Labels stick. Romney will never shed the "Richie Rich" label that Newt put on him. It will make the difficult task of unseating an incumbent president all the more difficult.

GOP election success ALWAYS depends on Americans having short-term memories.

But it's going to take a severe case of amnesia this time!
