Being a cult member is the least of $Willard's problems

Wait till he gets a load of all the radio and tv spots featuring his Swiss and Cayman Islands bank accounts this fall...

Not like Obama is in any position to talk. Romney and Obama are both insanely rich 1%'ers. Once you move into the 1% category, what difference does it make who is richer than who? All of them are out of touch with the American People. Obama has always come across as an elitist snob.

The only reason that Cayman and Swiss accounts matters at all is if Mitt Romney is using them to avoid paying taxes. He can open a bank account run by penguins in Antarctica and it's still a non-issue as long as he pays his taxes.

The thing that I'm sure will be beaten to death is the fact that Romney's only significant source of income is coming from investments. He is effectively living as a retiree with his entire life's savings put into investments. He pays 15% minus a few deductions because that's what Uncle Sam says he's supposed to pay. Wealthy Americans putting millions of dollars back into the economy is fuel to help the economy grow and prosper. That is why the maximum tax rate on long term investments revenue is 15%.

The fact that Romney gives an additional 15-21% to charity kinda squashes the issue. Obama gives a whole 1% of his own money to charity, which is pretty pathetic when you think about it. Barry's a multimillionaire, he can afford to do much more than he does. And giving directly to charity gets the help to the people who really need it more efficiently.

That brings us back to both Romney and Obama being rich 1%'ers who are way out of touch with the American people. Might even give Romney a moral edge for at least giving way more money to help the poor. He may not understand, but at least he ponies up to help the poor.

Neither one can honestly relate to Americans suffering through this wrecked economy.

It is basically as said above, it is "the strange church down the street I don't like".

Personally, I couldn't care less what a Person's religion is or isn't as long as they don't try to push that belief on others, as Sanitorium seems to want to do.

As for the need to be Mormon to be married in a Mormon church, the same applies to Catholics and Jews(probably others too).

A Catholic that has been divorced(under law) must get an annulment from the church if they want to get married in the church.

If someone wanted to bring up "strange" beliefs, they could bring up the Eucharist in the Catholic church.

But this is in the Book of Mormon and was taught by their founding elders!

What happened according to the Mormon story was this. In the pre-existence, God the Father convened a “Grand Council†in which two of his sons, Jesus and Satan, came forward and presented alternative plans for the salvation of humankind. Here is how that event is described in the LDS Church-published manual Gospel Principles:
Note these quotes from the Book of Mormon...IN CONTEXT!!

I know they don't talk about this much.

They don't talk about their founders' teachings on black people either.

Southern Baptists don't talk about their history religiously with black people either. Why do you think black folks pretty much have their own churches to this day? Of course, many Southern Baptist churches welcome diversity now in some areas, but in the deep south...not so much.

....and there are black neighborhoods, grocery stores, barbar shops, restaurants, music, nightclubs....etc....etc....etc....

I think the foundation for what you're implying might be a little iffy...or better said, a little more complex than how you are choosing to frame it.

"The word Southern in Southern Baptist Convention stems from its having been founded and rooted in the Southern United States. The SBC became a separate denomination in 1845 in Augusta, Georgia, following a regional split with northern Baptists over the issues of slavery. After the American Civil War, another split occurred: most black Baptists in the South separated from white churches and set up their own congregations."

Read more about it here:
Southern Baptist Convention - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you don't trust Wikipedia, any history book will do. Wikipedia really just summarizes the story of course, but the Southern Baptist Churches came into existence in order to protect slavery. The American Baptist Churches were quite zealous in denouncing slavery and that just wasn't fashionable in the South. So they split from the main body of Baptists and created their own Baptist convention: The Southern Baptist Convention/Churches. Eventually, the SBC went from protecting the institution to preaching that it was God's will that blacks should be slaves. Some SBC ministers going so far as to claim that blacks had no souls and were no better than animals in the eyes of God. The SBC's pro-slavery/pro-racism rhetoric is the very foundation of the ugliest and most persistent legacy of racism in the USA. Dixiecrats, Jim Crowe Laws, the KKK were just extensions of their dogmatic racist teachings. Today's KKK and other white supremacist organizations are simply natural successors to old-school Southern Baptist dogma.

Every religion has demons in its past and our nation's second largest religion is no exception. The SBC has changed their tune and have made great strides to put their past behind them. The even got around to officially apologizing for their racist past in 1995.

The truly ridiculous thing is that SBC members and even some of it's pastors are so oblivious to their own toxically racist past that they don't even realize how completely hypocritical it is for them to call Mormons on the carpet for racism. Nobody can beat the SBC for it's ugly racist past.

My take on things? Stop fussing about the past and focus on the now.

Romney is the only one of the current pack of GOP candidates that has ANY chance(all be it very small) of beating Obama in November, if Sanitorium manages to pull off the miracle of the universe he will be easily trounced by Obama once people hear what he stands for, right now it is only the Rush airheads.
