So Ron Paul is literally skipping out on his job as a Congressman. During 2012, he has missed 92% of the votes taking place in Congress.

He has no chance of winning the nomination, and his votes could be pivotal conservative votes in Congress.

So why is he neither doing his job in Congress, or dropping out of the presidential race that he literally cannot win?

I wonder if it has to do with the millions of dollars of campaign money he is amassing, and not going to be spending?

Come on Ron - where is your integrity?!?!?!

I can see your point, but I doubt his vote would have made any difference in any legislation for the past year.

It is a simple fact of life: those running for President pretty well ignore their official duties (if in public office). So it has been, and so it will ever be, Amen.

That is pretty typical of someone running for president, including John McCain, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama in 2008. McCain was somewhat of an exception since he suspended his campaign to deal with the financial crisis. And he was strongly criticized for that too. So it just goes to prove - damned if you do, damned if you don't. So you might as well just campaign and not risk losing votes.

I don't think it really matters much, what would he be doing authoring more bills that don't pass?

As everyone knowsI am not a Paul supporter by anymeans but he isn't the first candidate to miss congressional voting while running and he won't be the last. As for his winning, you are right, he never stood a chance. I have no idea about his fund raising money.

It doesn't really matter much that Ron Paul is in attendance. All POTUS candidates tend to neglect their day job while running for the election. At least he's going to be off the government dole come January, since he didn't run for another term in Congress and isn't going to be in the White House either. He will be able to speak with less irony about the evils of government when he is no longer part of the machine.

This is just the way things happen. Can't be in 2 places at once. He did pass on campaigning several times to go deal w/ important congressional issues. (Don't expect Reps like Lindsey Graham to do it.) Things like this.

As to financing campaign or otherwise. Plenty of information here.

What did Lindsey Graham do? Why bring him into this at all? You are right that all people do this to run for president, and many of them go back to vote when an important vote is up (like McCain did with the economic crisis). I don't think Lindsey Graham has ever run for president... if so he must have made it about as far as Tim Pawlenty did this year because I have never heard of him running for president.

Because I was referencing the NDAA.
