Polls show dead heat in Arizona | Politics - KOAT Home

Obama has overcome a six -point Romney lead. Sure, it's within the margin, but geez... could AZ be in play, like the Dems think?

Karl Rove & Co has just put its 2012 Electrol Vote Map on the Web and it it is interesting to say the least. He has Obama leading in the Blue states by magines of 15-20 % and these states total 226 electoral votes. He has 5 states leaning to Obama by at least 8 % and totaling 64 electoral votes so these two groups of states would give the President 290 electoral votes. Which is a lock as they say. Rove rates Romney's support as a firm lock on only 93 electoral votes. Rove's numbers rate states like Texas, Arizona, South Dakota, Kentucky,Tennessee and Georgia as being competitive i.e leaning (Romney's support is 5-8% over Obama) which if added to 93 would give Romney 179. Rove has the states of Iowa, Missouri, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida as being tied or within +- 3 %.
Rove is averaging a bundle of polls over a 3-6 month period and is using the same methods he did in 2008 and with the exception of one or two states was spot on.

Interesting that even Rove has Obama winning by a landslide

Can you delineate how Romney will make things better? Also, can you give concrete examples of Obama's failures?

Thanks in advance.

What Rove is telling me is that the Obama team can fight this election battle on the opponents homeland and if they put serious effort into states like Arizona, Texas,Georgia, South Carolina and Missouri they can tie up hundreds of millions of dollars of the Mittsers money It is never a good thing to have to fight back a challenge in your safe states. Mr Rove knows that. Even if Romney carries all these states which have always been the GOP base in a national election he still loses!

If Hispanic voters turn out in numbers they are capable of, AZ goes for Obama. I think a lot depends on SCOTUS. If the court upholds SB1070 like it appears they will, Latinos are going to be galvanized like never before in this state where they have traditionally been pretty apathetic about voting.
