If it was up to them that is exactly what would happen , females would have NO rights not given to them by their husband(NO societal rights), birth control would be outlawed, abortion would be prohibited even if it was to save the mother, even if the child will die either way.
The church has not changed much since european medieval times. This video proves it.
Amen! That's one of the many reasons I left the Catholic church many years ago.
I had to laugh at the message: "Marriage should be reinforced, not redefined." I have a friend who is Catholic and she's been divorced three times. Every time she wanted to get remarried, she sent money to the Vatican, and Poof! her previous marriage was annulled so she could marry again within the church. It turned her two daughters--each by a different husband--into illegitimate children, but hey, she got to stay a practicing Catholic. All it cost her was a few thousand dollars to render each previous marriage nonexistent. Talk about redefining marriage.
Yeah, I really care what the Catholic church has to say about anything...

Funny you should say that because I thought the problem with the video is it's not explicit enough in telling Catholics who to vote for.
Oh, it was crystal clear.
I think the people who will be inspired by this video were going to vote Republican anyway. I don't think this video is going to get someone to the polls to vote Republican who wasn't already going to go to the polls and vote Republican anyway. I think what it will do is **** a number of Catholics off that do not care for the Republican party right now; they'll be pissed off to see the creators of this ad manipulating Catholics and using their religion for political purposes.
A recent poll show 63% of Massachusetts voters support gay marriage, and about 55% of the state is Catholic, second only to Rhode Island.
We don't support gay marriage, we are resigned to it. We actually tried to put it on the ballot and even collected enough signatures to do so, but our legislature defecated on the Constitution and rejected the ballot initiative.

I don't think it will have any significant impact, but I do think it will have a net impact against Obama. It plays the emotional chords well.
