It was reported by ABC and immediately(within 24 hours)r refuted by all other news including directly talking to Romney. This is why we all need to watch more than a couple of networks and read more than one of two blogs or publications.

Embrace the flippity-floppishness that so many of you lambasted him with a couple of months ago.

Yeah, one of those teabaggers from AZ.

Well, if dad's out of the picture, maybe sonny-boy could be veep.

You'd be wise to stay away from casinos.
wade52,
Teabagger is a derogatory term used by immature teenagers to describe gay men. I would appreciate it if you would avoid using being gay as an insult. You know what you are doing, don't play naive, it has been brought up before.

It is harmful to society when people go around using anti-gay slurs. Maybe you personally don't feel animosity towards gay people, but you are part of the problem when you call people that you don't like "tea baggers", "circle jerkers", "gay" etc....simply because you disagree politically.

I am sure many people on both sides of the aisle can agree on this and I am encouraging other people to have the courage to stand up and speak out against this. When you see someone using sexual orientation, race, gender, and etc as an insult to speak up and post against the nonsense.

I read your parable.

Now, update yourself on the tea party/teabagger situation.

None other than the tea partiers themselves adopted the "teabagger" label for their 2009 protests. Then, when it became known that it had another less savory connotation, they indignantly lashed out at anyone who called them by their self-chosen label. Very amusing.

Tea WHAT?

Must be biblical...

The REAL meaning.

Even their Fox News sponsors loudly and proudly used the term.

So, save your hollow sermon.

I don't have a clue what you are talking about: flippity-floppity, a few months ago, what does that have to do with Daniels. I do not remember one person here, at least that criticized him for being a flip flopper...Can you esplain or at least give an example. All I can think of was his indicision as to whether he would run or not, which was more like a year ago or close. He didn't really fiip flop and it got down to his putting his wife and kids first. I don't think anyone crtiticized him for that. Maybe I am wrong, if so, refresh my memory.

I can't speak about your memory.

But I can clear up your evident confusion.

In your post #10 you were discussing Romney, to which I responded with my post #11.

Now, you're trying to bring up Daniels, for reasons only you can address.

Hope this helps.

wade52,
Yes, many Tea Party members called themselves "tea baggers" until they knew what it meant. Even President Obama called them "tea baggers" once. However, the adults stopped calling themselves/them tea baggers after it was established what it meant and a few people had a chuckle.

Why is it acceptable for you and other Democrats on here to use anti-gay slurs? I thought that the Democrats were the party of tolerance, but Democrats on city-data's elections forum are far more likley to use being gay, religion, gender, and race as an insult. Why is this acceptable? Why do you feel the need to insult people by calling them gay? You are part of the problem that gay people experience in this nation - period. You help perpetuate being gay as a negative thing when you throw out terms like "tea baggers" and "circle jerkers" as an insult.

you still lost me somewhere. My only comment was, Romney clarified the obvious mis-information. My remarks were clearly in referance to that and not who is or isn't flip flopping. I think we are on totally different wave lengths right now. END

This was just deflection off the post topic. It's hard for some posters here not to try to make everything all Romney or Obama, pro and con. I guess a topic on Daniels is either too complicated for them, or lacks the sparkle of attack and defend.

I agree- If Daniels accepted the position at Purdue, good for him. Our universities have had many former political people who did a good job of leading a university, and some of our university presidents have later gone on to successful political careers. Politics and scholarship are not mutually exclusive.

Nobody knows who's really being vetted. It's like playing cards. There's not a whole lot of point in telling the other side what you plan to do. Better to have them spend resources investigating everyone.

That said, Obama making those immigration changes means that Rubio is probably out since they were his ideas.
