Many things said in jest pack a lot of meaning, I think Chris Rock's description of Rudy is quite good: “He’s great – in a crisis. But in real life Giuliani’s kinda like a pit bull. He’s great when you have a burglar, but if you don’t, he just might eat your kids.” I don't that's the lind of abrasive personality we need representing the US in the world. And I don't see much class in a man who lets his wife (#2 if you're keeping score) learn he's planning to file for divorce by announcing it on TV.

Rudy did clean up New York. He should spend the remainder of his years as an advisor to other crime-ridden cities, not as President. He is WAY too exploitative of 9/11, even for a Republican.

Anybody else here about his "Donate $9.11 to Rudy Giuliani" campaign fundraising scheme? Disgraceful.

Apparently his people dropped the $9.11 campaign, but yes, it was disgraceful to even give it two seconds air-time.

There was a time prior to Rudy's tenure as Mayor, where we NYer's just didn't go to the city. It was too unsafe, way too dangerous. Rudy changed it ALL! The difference was amazing.
You are completely right. Giuliani was a great mayor in that he cleaned up the largest city in America. (He should move to another city and do what he is good at, IMO. Mpls. will take him at City Hall) Unfortunately, he isn't running as the clean up the city mayor, he is running as the hero of Sept. 11th. mayor. Even if he was some hero, it is in bad taste to profit off the lives of the truly brave men that died that day. But he wasn't even a hero. Giuliani is banking his (and the Republican party's) aspirations on our emotional leanings. I hope they both lose for it.

When you have to use 9/11 in every sentance, it shows you have no reason other than coincidence as a platform for presidency.

It's funny but when I clean stuff up, I move the furniture, and dust, sweep, and even polish under that piece of furniture.

Rudy Giuliani cleaned up the city by hiding or removing from sight that which he didn't like, and left lots of messes behind City Hall.

If it comes down to Rudy vs. Hillary, I have to vote Rudy. I just CANNOT support aillary Presidency, no way, no how!

He was a Hero? Let's ask the men who were there and see what they have to say. Anyone willing to dispute the Firefighters?

Rudy supporters here forget that actually Police Chief Bill Bratton was credited with cleaning up New Yorks streets.

That was until Rudy fired him for being in the public eye and put in his Soprano's wannabe buddy Bernie Kerik in instead. Then we just got black guys being attacked by the mayor for allowing cops to shoot them. And museums attacked for showing art he didn't like. And his wife attacked for.....being in the way of his mistress.

Repubs voted for Bush 'cause they didn't like Gore. And voted for him again 'cause they didn't like Kerry. Now they all want to vote for another incompetent loser 'cause they don't like the way Hillary talks/walks/picks her blouse color.

The GOP is showing itself as being incapable with coming up with anyone even nominally capable of holding the position of Manager of a Bingo Hall, never mind Leader of the Free World.

.
I did for Bush the first time cause I liked what he said and hoped he would do.The 2nd time, yes I did vote for the lesser of 2 evils in my mind.

But not this time nope...no more.If I have a choice of any Repub other than RP against a Dem,I'll vote 3rd party. No more voting for who will do the least damage,I'll vote for real change even if my vote doesn't win.Really, what's the difference if Guliiani or Clinton become president...not much,it will be down hill either way.

And I do despise H. Clinton, but this situation of in with the new prez, same as the last 2 prez has got to change.
