At London Olympics, empty seats have organizers scrambling, giving away tickets to children and soldiers - The Washington Post

Quote:
Hoping to quell controversy after large swaths of seats appeared unfilled, London Olympic organizers said British troops and schoolchildren had been given free tickets Sunday to fill many of the vacant rows.

A day after the city reveled in the splendor of Danny Boyle’s critically acclaimed Opening Ceremony, many locals were piqued when television footage showed empty seats at some of the most popular sporting events, including swimming and gymnastics, that they had been told were sold out. Such scenes ignited speculation that corporate sponsors had been provided tickets they weren’t using, leaving the public on the outside looking in.

LOL. I noticed the empty seats too at the gymnastics pit the other day. Or maybe folks don't want to go through the hassle of God knows how many levels of body searches and ID checks and whatever else to even get in the door. Not sure what a ticket costs but it most likely aint cheap. Plus the whole site is built on a environmental waste dump.

The faithful MSM lapdogs have already moved on.

It's all about Michelle hugging the basketball team now.

It's too late Willard apologists, the damage is already done and apart of the record. Willard is so accustomed to being the rich privileged guy, he doesn't (or his wife) know when to ****.

Romney was talking about security.

The story on the empty seats is this:

"Prized Olympic tickets entrusted to foreign delegations are being openly sold by touts on the streets of Britain, it emerged last night.
They are cashing in on the huge demand for seats by selling tickets sent overseas by Games organisers.. .

"Designer Paul Chandler, 42, who travelled down to the Olympic Park from Nottingham with his family, added: ‘Standing in the wet watching pictures of empty seats on the big screen, we feel betrayed.’
Sally Pookey, 31, who lives less than a mile from the Olympic Park, said: ‘I felt disgusted when I saw all the gaps in the stands.’"

Too bad that the people who really wanted to see the Games didn't have an opportunity to purchase those tickets.

Ok, the Romney "gaffe" was stupid to argue about.

The opening excuse, makes it worse.

Let this stupid story die, ugh.

MSM pounced on Romney's Olympic "gaffe" appears he was right.

Romney did not behave like a statesman by insulting the host country while visiting. That is downright idiotic. Romney deserves to be the laughing stock of Britain for using less sense than Mr. Bean.
