Dyson then pivoted to what he believed could be in Obama’s head during last night’s debate, which was The Daily Caller tape of him from 2007 attacking the federal government’s response to Hurricane Katrina and suggesting there were unresolved racial issues behind that insufficient response.
“Obama has just been subject to the Fox News treatment of ‘angry black man’ again,” said Dyson. “Let’s not forget this. Lest we pretend that that doesn’t make a difference to the specter hanging over his neck that ‘I can’t come off as too vigorous, because then it looks like I’m being an angry black man.’”
Dyson said that, because of the “angry black man phenomenon,” Romney was able to exploit Obama’s deference and “play to his strengths.”
Following last night’s debate, documentary filmmaker Michael Moore made a similar accusation, saying that Fox attacking Obama for being an “angry black man” may have made Obama appear timid:
Liberals are very good at excuses and blame. So, what is it this time? Why was obama so dang crappy last night? How did such an amazing leader get spanked by someone y'all have written off as a loser? Where was the obama of 2008? What's y'all's excuse this time?
Those lies only add to his vulnerabilty. He can bask in the afterglow for the short lived time being, but he and Ryan will be called out on their lies during the next three debates, of that we can be sure.
No matter what happens, the right wingers are going to cheerlead Willard. Willard didn't win anything, all he proved is how well he can lie to the american people.
Romney was going at Obama like a pissed off DAD who just caught his kid with the car without permission. I couldn't watch much of it. There was our PRESIDENT with his head hanging taking a tounge lashing from Romney that was not necessary..it was a debate, not a lecture!! I was so angry at Obama for not striking back and you are correct, he looked sorry and weak. I hope he didn't lose the election..I actually like the man and like the fact that he has Hillary Clinton behind him as Secretary of State..there are so many possibilities for him and he has got to not EVER let that happen to him again. Why did he fold? Why did he let Romney beat him up like that?? Very disappointing.
You just merely saw the real obama that is running the executive branch not the media creation with a teleprompter filled with someone elses words, a media to spin for him or props behind him.
He has nothing to strike back about, his record is abysmal. Even his "affordable health care act" has proven to be unaffordable with everyones insurance going up along with all of the taxes.
I almost felt at times as if Obama was just letting him run his mouth - I will be very interested to see how Obama's demeanour changes at the next debate.......I think he will be taking some lessons away from this debate and will be a lot more combative at the next one.
I doubt it will change that much. He's a narcissist, who has almost never been challenged and criticized in his life. In his mind, he thinks he's "the one". He might be a bit more peppy, but he has a record now and doesn't have a leg to stand on.
The nation cried last night. We have had a fool in the White House for four years. The media had ignored thier responsibility and covered for this twit for that time, much to the detriment of the nation.
Finally we got to see him, after four years.
