No it isn't. That assumes that the Rs and Ds are somehow entitled to our votes before we ever cast them. It also assumes that someone who votes for a third party would have otherwise voted for Romney or Obama. Talk to some 3P voters (they're all over the Web) and you'll soon find that's not the case.

Fast-forward to 2012 and the Republicans are doing the exact same thing. Over and over again I'm reading about how people are voting for Romney because "we have to get Obama out of the White House." Not because they love Romney, but because he's not Obama.

You have to give people something more than just "he's not the other guy" if you want to get them excited enough to vote for your guy.
This election has so many parallels to 2004. That one, and that it's primarily a base election, very few undecideds. Another one is the meme Obama has played recently that he is the "steady leader" and Romney would be reckless. That's similar to what Bush said.

The result looks like it will be the same as well, the incumbent wins in a close election, possibly coming down to Ohio as it did then.

And neither one has the guts to make the hard choices necessary to fix our impending fiscal disaster.

He will say anything to get elected, he has been running for president since birth, but guess what, he will lose....

That's the excuse every election. "This one is too important. I can't vote 3P because I have to stop the guy I don't like from destroying the country." I remember how Bush had to be voted out in '04, or else the country was going to end.

We elect Rs to fix the problems the Ds caused, and then we elect Ds to fix the problems the Rs caused.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

One big difference... in 2004, the economy was doing well.
