Yet another meme that to me shows the capacity of the left to engage in lunacy is the idea that this was a "landslide" victory.
Pres Obama was re-elected by a popular vote of 50.6% to 47.9% for Romney. 62.1 million votes to 58.8 million for Romney.
The 2004 election of Bush-Cheney vs. Kerry-Edwards was very close to these numbers. W Bush beat Kerry by 50.7 to 48.3, 62 million to 59 million. Nobody I know of called that a "landslide." Everyone, R's and D's alike, characterized it as a continuation of the 50-50, deeply divided nation. What has changed?

I also remember Bush stating: "I have a mandate from the voters and Political Capital to spend; I intend on spending it".

But if the final numbers matter all that much to you, at least wait until the numbers ARE final. Millions of votes have not yet been counted, 3+ million in CA alone.
Let's not forget millions of votes weren't even cast in the hardest hit parts of the NE, a stronghold for dems. Many are still in the dark. Landslide, yep, a huge one. If not for the GOP gerrymanded house districts the dems would control congress.
I wouldn't call it a landslide, though when Dick Morris claimed Romney would win 325 Electoral College votes (7 fewer than President Obama ended up winning), Morris said that would be a landslide.
I don't recall you starting a thread taking Dick Morris to task.
That's because I have Dick Morris on ignore. I haven't taken him seriously since I wasted 20 bucks or so on his ridiculous "Condi vs. Hillary" book from about 5 years ago. But anyway, I believe Morris was talking about a 55% pop. vote win, which is at least approaching landslide territory.
We all know, or should know that the electoral college system can be idiosyncratic. In theory somebody could win every state by just one vote. and win all electoral votes except for Maine and Nebraska, which allocate proportionally. Then they would win something like 529-4 in the electoral college, while winning the popular vote by a ten thousanth of one percent. But apparently according to many Obama supporters here, that would be a "landslide" victory.

I don't recall Limbaugh or anyone on Fox News ever calling it a "landslide." Got a link to a quote, or is this another one of those fabricated Limbaugh quotes from the left?
I google Bush 2004+limbaugh+landslide and come up empty.
I am willing to bet that most people claiming a "landslide" are quite young. But to anyone who was alive in 1984, where there was a 17 million vote gap between Reagan and Mondale or even Nixon's massive victory by 18 million votes in 1972, 2008 and 2012 fail in comparision by far. Obama won by not even 10 million in 2008, and barely 3 million last week.
That's typical of the left, the voice of the people means nothing.
Typical right wing hypocrisy. When Bush stole the 2000 election Republican agitators were bullying the vote counters to stop the recount after they got to a number favorable to them.
