Before this election I believed we were a center right country. I accepted the idea that 47% of the population expected handouts from the government and that conservatism still had a chance.
afterwards I don’t believe that any longer. We are a center left/left country and there are about 45% of Americans that do NOT expect handouts from the government.
I am sure you and yours are celebrating. your side killed the American Rugged Individualist. I however am mourning the loss.
And there has NEVER been anything silent about your whining progressive buddies. Progressives have long whinned about everything and anything. you protest and fill parks with your dirty tents and you poop on cop cars and dont bath and get in the way. But you won. enjoy.
And when all else fails, hit them with accusations of racism, sexism, homophobia - the list goes on.
Sadly, you are correct. America has lost. We are going the way of Greece. 25% unemployment. No money to pay our bills. A generation (or two) of lazy, entitled "but what about my self esteeeeem"ers.
I just hope the reset button isn't too painful or violent. And I hope it's quick.

You are correct. Because selfish children will always want to live with the parent that gives them everything they want. It's only later, when they realize that those things don't make up for good parenting (as in "saying no" once in awhile), that they regret that choice.
I keep hearing all about America being a center right nation, how the conservative views of the Republican party are more in tune to the views of most Americans, how Obama was just too liberal for this country blah blah blah. If this is true, and Republicans hold the lock on America's moral compass, then why did you lose an election that you should have been able to win? And it wasn't a squeaker, you were soundly defeated!
I have to admit, all the anti Obama screaming and the tea party wave got me, as a liberal, kind of scared. I thought, "Maybe Obama has overstepped his bounds, maybe the progressive vision I have is considered an overreach by most people, maybe the US really is a center right country." My suspicions were not warranted. The radical Marxist Kenyan Socialist was reelected easily and his Democratic minions gained seats in the senate.
So I hope many of you who have been screeching for the past four years have seen the writing on the wall. Maybe you're the ones in the minority now, and maybe there's a new silent majority that's more progressive than you'd like to believe.
Only the "Real americans" voted for Romney.
The rest are just "Fake" Americans.
Romney lost because he didn't promise voters any free stuff. There's just too much pond scum out there looking for a free ride.
Here's a few questions for YOU. Do you believe term limits for the presidency should be eliminated? Would you vote to enable Barack Hussein Obama to become POTUS permanently? Would you be satisfied if Obama could select his successor?
And here we have Exhibit A of everything that is wrong with the current GOP. Catering to crazies like this poster is exactly what lost them this election, and until and unless they are willing to tell the crazies that they ARE crazy instead of inviting them in and giving them a seat at the table, it is what will continue to lose them elections going forward.

the party is winding down now, and guess who is in charge?
americans didn't pick obama because he was a "genius", they picked obama because they were needy and dependent. obama broke just about every campaign promise that he made, and presided over a horrible economy-and HE STILL WON.
for the record, a needy majority doesn't bode well for the future, and, no doubt, the democrats will be trotting even more needy people into the country in the next 4 years.

Republicans never had a chance to unseat President Obama because they had not shown that they are any better than the pathetic verison that cursed us for 8 horrific years under Bush. Criticizing the other side 24/7 doesn't prove it. Ignoring Bush didn't prove it. Creating the Tea Party didn't prove it. Obstructing the President in Congress didn't prove it. Spending a billion dollars of deceptive marketing and lies in support of Romney didn't prove it.
Frankly, their ideas for the country don't work and they have REGRESSED. No surprise that they lost. They proved ONCE AGAIN that their rhetoric cannot be believed.
