Then, when Trump had the nerve to actually follow through with those attacks, Fox freaked out.

That was never supposed to happen!

Bush was the annointed one!

Suddenly, Trump was part of the War on Women that Fox had ridiculed. He was a Democrat in Republican clothing. He was a flash in the pan.

I have never seen such an obvious "passing down of marching orders from above" as I have on Fox since Trump soared to the top of the polls.

CNN has wisely given the microphone to Trump and made sure that there are commentators to defend him in most of its coverage.

I guess Fox doesn't care about losing 10 million viewers or more. Go figure.
Where in the world are you getting the idea any channel is going to lose 10 mil viewers? and what else are you talking about when you mention the rest of the Republican base? Trump is not really part of the base, he is just a favorite of those who are blindly hoping a Trump will really be able to do what he says he can. When they really think this through they might come around to reality. I doubt seriously FOX ever freaked out? They did very well without him and will continue to do well. He is being hurt a lot more than FOX.

Exactly right - great post!

There has been a seismic shift in the political landscape out there and Fox is acting like it's still year 2000 and the last 15 years never happened.

And finally, it's just plain interesting. Gotta hand it to Trump, I've never seen an election anything like this. My hat's off to the guy. He's an idiot - and there's NO WAY he'll get the GOP nomination, but he's making it interesting none-the-less

Ken
First of all, he's not going to split the vote....he's going to take it!

Second, you have it backwards. The guys who brought us to the sad state we are in today are the idiots. Trump has the smarts and the courage to step up and to do his damnedest to lead us out of this mess. The idiots are the puppets in the empty suits who got us here....and will keep us here, to the extent they can get anyone else to take them seriously. Fortunately, it seems their party is coming to an end.

He's not going to SPLIT the vote?
LOL
Good luck with that - when has that EVER happened?

Still, I don't want to discourage you. Go ahead and support the guy. It's what I expect (and WANT) to happen - and it will.
Go Trump! Tear the GOP apart.

Ken

PS - I'm not sure what you mean by "got us here". Where is "here" - to be the richest, most powerful nation on earth? Is that what you mean by "here"?

If you know of a nation that's doing better than the U.S.A. kindly point it out. What nation is a better place to live than here?

Looks like Trump is going to have a meeting with Roger Ailes of Fox soon to hash out their differences.

I do believe that Fox has been trying to steer the entire election to Jeb Bush. I remember when George Will announced his wife was working for Scott Walker and his numbers starting tanking.... the people are sick of the establishment GOP.

I predict they will hash out an interview with Megyn Kelly and it will go down as the highest rated special in Fox history.

Yeah, either that or a stupid soap opera.
Hey, maybe that's it: Trump is secretly filming an undercover reality TV show to be air on Telemundo.
Yeah, yeah, that's the ticket.

Of course they will meet. All politics aside, Ailes is in the business of making money for the network. All Trump has to do is give all of his time to primetime CNN to make Fox News beg. Ailes knows 24 million people didn't tune into the first debate to see Wallace, Kelly and Baier or hear their "carefully crafted questions."

You know, when Fox News holds the next debate Trump could go over to CNN and they could sit on a CNN sofa and Mystery Theater 3000 (are you old enough to know what that is? ) the Fox News debate. Wouldn't that be a hoot.
