You are just linking to official records. And the link you provided even stated that the study was flawed and explicitly stated that the middle class in Sweden was so strong.

You claim that Sweden is so rich because it is unable to tax worldwide income like every country except the US. This is just something you make up.
Sweden didn't do this.

Oops! Fed Admits QE Widens Inequality | Zero Hedge

Our inequality would be nowhere as high as it is today without the above. Where were the complaints when it was happening? There were a few.......as I said, I give Sanders credit but for the majority come 2012 they voted for even more of it and are now complaining because they voted for it?

Quit blaming for others what *you* voted for.

Funny how income inequality is supposedly so high in Sweden, yet Sweden is showing all the signs of a country with low income inequality. Low crime rate, high degree of trust in institutions, low corruption, strong democracy, happy people, high voter turnout. I will believe all the research which shows that Sweden indeed has low income inequality and that you make stuff up to suit your agenda when you claim that it unofficially is sky high because of rampant tax avoidance by the rich.

Hint: It has to do with the fact that Sweden's rich can and do legally hide their assets and shield their income from taxes simply by holding foreign accounts. All that, and generous social and safety net programs, as well.

Quite simply, the U.S. is doing it wrong. Let's implement Sweden's tax code, repeal FATCA, legally allow the rich to shield income from taxes, and implement Swedish-style social and safety net programs. Deal?

You are making it up. If Sweden has rampant tax avoidance, we would see high unofficial inequality and signs of it in the society. But it is completely the opposite. All signs point to low inequality, and officially that's the case as well. You have not proved what you claim.

What that doesn't take into account that without QE, we might well have had a depression and that certainly wouldn't have been better for most citizens. I find it hard to take zero hedge seriously. These are the people who have been warning us of hyperinflation for years.

They are simply quoting the Fed. Want me to find another link? Will it make a difference? No, you bought the lie and now are stuck with it.

I suppose you believed Geithner when he said it would be bad for the economy to prosecute even one banker that broke our laws also?

Another factor that should be mentioned is the highly regressive health insurance tax in the US. It doesnt get any more regressive than that, its far worse than a flat tax, but it is not called a tax, so it cant be called a "regressive tax", just a massive expense for ordinary Americans, so there's that.

We could end that tax if we quit sending billions overseas which none of the Scandinavian countries do.

I am not denying that someone from the Philly Fed said that, I am saying that there is more to it than that. It is not a 'if all other things are equal' analysis. If QE didn't happen, it would have been worse for everyone.

Have it your way, then. Repeal FATCA, and allow the U.S. rich to hide assets and income in foreign accounts so that they're completely tax-free.

Deal?
