Mitt Romney won 27% of the Hispanic vote in 2012. The GOP's own autopsy report after that election showed that the party cannot win a Presidential election with those numbers. In fact, they need to win at least 40%.
Do you really think that Donald Trump is going to improve on that 27%?
Romney was a career politician so there's no comparison. Trump is anti-establishment and has tapped into voter dissatisfaction which is at an all time high. The pundits have been wrong about Trump's chances and that will only continue. Can Trump win? That remains to be seen, but historic percentages of 64% white and 30% other to win may not apply this time around. Either Trump wins in a landslide or he loses in a landslide. At this time, it's anybody's guess.
I WANT Trump to win the nomination, that will ensure a Hillary win . Every poll, except Fox News naturally, has Hillary beating Trump. The GOP did Hillary a HUGE favor and made her look competent when she was being grilled on Benghazi and other nonsense. You can read all of the pro-Trump responses on here and they all still think Benghazi will be her Waterloo. That's what they mean by corrupt and such. The only reason why Trump is strong in the polls and relevant still, is because he's avoiding the mistakes the GOP clown car rising starts made in 2012. When his poll numbers dip again like they did in the past month or so, he'll say something outrageous again to re-energize media interest in his campaign.

Hillary already has ALL the demographic trends in her favor, so she'd likely win even without Trump's help. But if Trump is a candidate in the general election in ANY capacity (GOP or third party)... he virtually guarantees Hillary a win. And while I'm no fan of Hillary generally speaking, I definitely prefer her over any candidate in the Republican Clown Car.

Maybe it's just me, since I have no bone really in the political fight just "South" of me ..However..This particular election, that decides POTUS elected position, is something I haven't seen before!! Trump as well as Carson, Florin, and yes..Cruz ( Tea Party elected/ANTI-Government acclaimed) has truly inflicted a total division within the GOP/RNC psyche....In fact..just less than a year before final votes...GOP strategists and most powerful Republican Elites are now panicking ..They are not just considering POTUS but all the "Down Ballot" seats at risk too!! They fear they could lose the Senate, House seats and also State seats too!!
Fear and disgust for the leader of their Country has been stoked since 2009...doesn't matter for what....BO is not perfect..nor is Hillary...But geesh loueeese ..American's reputation of dirty politics has sure risen to the top of all convo's for past 7 years....
Sure Trump or Cruz may feel good...Trump suggesting he can fix EVERYTHING..just cause he can ( running divided govern't is NOTHING like running a company that are full of YES MEN abiding by your every wish) so can only hope majority will elect someone who is capable to negotiate, compromise ( Trump/Cruz refuse to compromise on anything) with "other" side !
Putting someone into office like "Leader" of one's Country usually requires some knowledge base on how to navigate the sea of obstacles..Trump to this point has NO advisors, other than media specialists to promote ( something Trump thrives on) the Trump Brand...and outrageously suggest the darkest side's previously hidden thoughts and wishes..Surely, common sensical folks will prevail..
I agree Trump will never accept failure publicly ..To him is like "Losing Face", and we all know how the Japanese Samurai warrior would commit "Hara-Kiri" if lost face or captured in war situation...in short suicide...but Trump wouldn't go that far..he'd go on a mission to destroy anyone who feels dissed, demeaned, slandered him...WHY not? His has rooms full of lawyers waiting for instructions... Legal system is Trump's way of getting revenge LOL.. So look out those who are going to tangle with "THE DONALD"

Since Obama NEVER got amnesty for illegal aliens; IMHO many "Hispanics" will sit this out because they don't trust either Trump OR Hillary. Blacks: Hillary ain't Obama.
You don't think that Hispanics wouldn't turn out in record numbers to prevent their nana from getting deported? Obviously, not every Hispanic is illegal and/or Mexican. However, from Hispanic-specific poll numbers and from talking to them, I can tell you that they don't like Mr. Trump's rhetoric against "Hispanics," however defined.
It's like how the Chinese, Japanese and Koreans have traditionally bickered against each other, but if a non-Asian were to denigrate any of them, they would unite like crazy against the external enemy. Same for blacks - Africans and the Caribbean islander immigrants might look down on American blacks, but if a white person were to make an adverse comment against American blacks, they would all unite. That's just human nature.

Trump just held a rally in Raleigh. It was standing room only as 1000s showed up. I live in Charlotte and there is Trump support everywhere. I can tell you this, NC will never vote for Hillary Clinton. She lost here against Barak Obama, and she will lose here again against Trump.
Furthermore NC is one of the fastest growing states in the USA. There is no such thing as 'rapidly shrinking' voter base. For that you need to look at you own state were the middle class is packing its bags as fast as they can, and moving South.
Hillary is not counting on NC, and does not need it anyway to get to 270EV. In 2012, Obama went over 300EV easily without NC after all.
We are a year away, every terrorist attack between now and then only sures his vote up more.
