While history supporst the OP. I guess the wild card is the dynamics of the republican field and how different they are in preivious years. Trump of course is the biggest wild card. I don't see either Trump or Cruz folding up the tent anytime soon. Each would greatly benefit from the other dropping out. But that isn't going to happen. That could make room for an establishment canidate but they have to get the number down from 3 to 1. With Christie existing we are basically down to Bush, Kasich and Rubio now. I actually think Rubio is going to start to slide. He might be the next to drop out in the coming weeks.
Iowa Republicans are far more religious/evangelical than what you'll see in the majority of the Republicans in the country. That's why the Jesusland candidates dominate.
I see your location is Des Moines, Iowa. Did you caucus? Did you experience anyone from either the Cruz or Rubio campaign telling Carson supporters that Carson was dropping out and they should not waste their vote, but use it to support Cruz or Rubio? I am not trying to find out who you supported, it's just that the big Cruz kerfuffle only seems to involve Carson and Trump and not the actual caucus attendees. At least, I have yet to hear any caucus attendees for Carson alleging they were defrauded for their vote.
Thanks!
Mrs Carson said they did it in her presence. Cruz wasn't apologizing because he was innocent.
Haha. Last nights big winner was not Trump. Jeb! is the establishment candidate now and the establishment is going to win. The whole flavor of the campaign will change now that the demographics opens up. Same with the Dems. It's Clinton Bush all over again.
op thanks for the thread. unfortunately, all these threads seem to go off topic when anyone gives an opinion of who may be the winning candidates
The thread is an opinion of who will be the winning candidate. Posters can only agree that Cruz is the nominee? Get real, Cruz is not going to win. The "or..." the OP left open will most likely be Jeb! The establishment lane of the race has the most voters, the most money and all of the political strength at the convention. Once they settle on a candidate, it's all over.

Actually, the purpose of the thread is to project the nominee based on history., not opinion. Nothing in recent history suggests Jeb! stands a chance to be the GOP nominee.

Well history suggests that SC and the south will be very kind to Jeb!. And if anything, the election so far tells us that history is out the window in this one. But, I will leave the thread alone and you can discuss how history is all that matters.
