Don't be so quick.

Rubio is (was) the only one polling comfortably ahead of her. Was even above Sanders.
Trump polls well below her compared to others.
It's almost like Christie and Bush actually want a Clinton presidency.

The guy listens carefully and is fast to come back on a weakness he spots.

He's always been an attack dog. Rubio simply locked up and went robotic.

The incident plainly showed as much about both of them as the people they really are.

The exchange didn't help Christie, but it hurt Rubio. Just like Mitt's casual $10,000 bet comment hurt him in the last election. It is now up to Marco to show he really isn't a robot, really. Honestly, I'm not. So far, he hasn't done well at correcting the impression.

I don't think anyone put Christie up to it. I think he was just becoming increasingly frustrated listening to Rubio bs his way through a campaign to be President of the United States. Christie may have his faults, but I give him major respect for sticking his neck out and risking the ire of the RNC and GOP establishment by calling Rubio out for his reliance on memorized talking points.

Rubio is a lot like Palin, completely devoid of any substance. The country needs a President that can do more than spew talk radio talking points and I applaud Christie for having the guts to point that out.

That isn't nutty at all. Whether you vote in the primary or not, the GOP will have a nominee. But in the general election, if Republicans don't vote, there won't be a Republican president.

In general, who is the president matters a lot less than which party holds the White House (and Congress). Even if you don't like the GOP's nominee, if you are a Republican, you want a Republican president, or else the Republican agenda won't move an inch as veto/executive order powers would be held by a Democrat.

People get too invested on names, but in reality what matters most is which party controls which branches of government. That is what defines how the heart of the country will beat.

"Devoid of any substance", "talking points"....
Now that is absolutely hilarious coming from an Obama fan.

That is a grossly unfair assessment. Rubio has his faults but he has a better grasp on national security than most of the candidates. Listening to him talk when he's not doing his sound bites displays an intellegent, thoughtful individual. He presents such a better picture of a candidate when he is not on a stage.

The biggest problem with Rubio is that this should have been his dry run for a future race, he was simply not cooked enough. However, Trump cut Bush down at the knees, Cruz is an extremist, Trump is a nut along with being a Democrat pretending to be a Republican, Carson was out of his league, Paul was too radical, Christie is unlikable, Kasich is an unknown, Walker gained zero traction, and Rubio ended up polling unexpectedly well. Most average traditional Republicans saw/see him as their only hope to avoid having one of two crackpots, who happen to leading the current delegate race, be the nominee come the general election. Rubio can recover, it just may not be this election cycle.

This is one messed up election cycle.

I expect that when we look back on all of this, in hindsight we will see that this was in fact a dry run for Rubio. He's what, 44? He could come back in 12 years and he would only be 56. That could be just what he needs to do.

In the mean time, Robio is going to need a job if he sticks to his word of giving up his senate seat. He said he wasn't going to run for reelection for his senate seat. His senate seat is up for vote this cycle. He was worthless as a senator anyway - didn't do anything other than promote his political career.

Don't be surprised to see him run for Governor of Florida.
