Okay, I don't play much attention to endorsements, but this one was a little surprising. Kasich, really?
Kasich support Common Core, and he took Medicare Expansion money (re. Obamacare Exchanges) I'm from Ohio, and I don't support him for President (FWIW). He's not a bad governor, but he is not my pick for Republican nominee for President. I choose Ted Cruz.
Kasich is far more appealing and level-headed than a reality TV star or a Bible-thumper who's primary mission as President will be to make LGBT people second-class citizens and prepare the country for the rapture.
Oh, please! So, I'm guessing you are a "gay" atheist? You hate anyone who professes God.
The Dallas Morning News was inexplicably saddled with a new editor from the Miami Herald last year and is now some kind of mushy, even obnoxious, left wing cheering section. It's been deformed into the old Dallas Times Herald, even outdoing NYT recently.
Mike Wilson is an low-level columnist and copy editor, he is NOT a member of the DMN Editorial Board that makes the endorsements. He has no more say about whom they endorse than you do.
Mike Wilson is a low-level columnist — Sorry. It's annoying when people can't get when to use "a" and "an" straight.
Because it's the Editorial Board that makes the endorsements.
The news editors have nothing to do with it.
Look at the byline under the pictures on their endorsement page. See where it says Editorial Board? And it links to their Editorial Board?
You do know what a byline is, right?
I love Kasich. In fact, now that I've given up on Trump he is the only one left that I will vote for. None of the others do much for me.
Kasich is a nice man and a good governor. BUT, he supports Common Core, and he took money for Obamacare exchanges. He has said (recently) that he is more 'liberal' than Hillary Clinton (if you can believe that!) I was stunned when I heard that.
I don't think he's the best man for the job. I'm for Ted Cruz.
I want to like Trump, but he makes it so hard. He is petulant, he fights dirty, and I am starting to think he doesn't really want the job. He likes the attention, but I'm not sure he wants to be under the microscope for the next 4-8 years. The behavior at his rallies is a little scary. He could be great or he could be a demagogue, but I fear the latter. He doesn't have a lot of details of how he is going to make everything so great.
I decided I have been projecting on him all the things I wanted in a candidate, and making excuses for his crazy statements (he wants the headline grabber, doesn't really mean he would kill family members of terrorists, etc.). I feel that if I am too embarrassed to put his bumper sticker on my car, then maybe I should not vote for him.
I don't like the others either, which is a problem. John Kasich isn't bad though. I listened to him in an interview and really liked what he had to say. People get mad and say he isn't conservative enough for what? He expanded Medicaid so more people could get healthcare? He allocated more money for mental health issues? Is that supposed to make him horrible? Because I just don't see it that way.

Are you sure that was the entire statement? It sounds like someone cut off a very important part of that, like "People say l am more liberal than Hillary Clinton, but that's not true."
I can't imagine anyone running in a republican primary saying the other.
I don't think he has broad appeal, and I get the feeling he isn't all truthful. I don't like that he keeps on going to the social issues. I don't believe same-sex marriage should be left up to the states. Let it go. I understand pro life, but who cares what people get married? I just don't think it's a good way to appeal to the moderates, nor is it right.
I also take issue with his promise not to work with democrats. A senator or representative can do that, but a president should try to lead. He has no appeal outside the base in my opinion.
