Said tonight that he didn't run and he's happy where he is. But "he hasn't given any thought to it. There are lots of people running for president. We'll see."

It's hard to imagine someone coming in that has been completely removed from the campaign and being anointed at the convention. But in a year where the unexpected has repeatedly happened, I guess we can't rule anything out.

He would certainly appeal more to Hillary hating Democrats in a general than a racist, sexist, xenophobic bigot like Trump.

Paul Ryan won't categorically rule out accepting GOP nom
I don't know about that. Democrats are not that hard to fool. They buy into Hillary BS easily.

No. Democrats didn't like him in 2012, and they don't like him any more now.

That could change by 2020, if Ryan is still in politics, or if he's no longer content with being Speaker, but if I was in his shoes, I wouldn't risk losing the Speakership at all. It's one of the most powerful jobs in Congress, and it's in the house where all the action is. If Ryan had ever wanted another seat, he could have won it long ago. He loves the House of Representatives.

Don't forget President Ford. He was the Speaker too, and became the only President in history who never ran for the job.
