He always says that being outrageous is the best way to get free press and playing to a person's fantasy is the way to close a deal. That's why I can't understand why his supporters don't realize that's exactly what he's doing now.

As pointed out in other posts, it's true that he's had to compete with a lot more candidates. However, I don't see why the same people who voted for her twice with an overwhelming majority would suddenly decide she's not qualified. Also, her competitor, Bernie Sanders, to whom you are referring is very popular among young voters and independents. I realize that some of those voters will vote for Trump, but I find it difficult to believe Sanders will urge his supporters to vote for a man he just called "a pathological liar."
I am betting the majority of those who supported her in NY in the past will do so again. Of course a lot can happen between now and November.

If Hillary had had the same onslaught turned on her, we wouldn't even be talking about her today. Sill with that huge advantage, rules rigged in her favor, and running against a hippy socialist, she still had to spend $110M, and the primary isn't even over.
You're joking, right? If you want to start talking about negative press, I can list all the hearings and investigations that turned up no evidence against her. What I admire in Hillary is her strength and endurance. When someone has been in the public eye for this long, it's really not such a big advantage. Sure, Trump is a well known real estate mogul and when he hosted a popular TV program, those who didn't like him could simply change the channel. However, when you elect someone to the most important office in the country, you can't just switch channels or read a book, because that person will now have an effect on your life. Yet people are acting as if they're watching a reality show.
