But he's also consistent with his 'I got mine, don't care about anyone else' attitude in his business dealings, I simply think the man lacks character in how casually he'll decide not to pay people he owes which is well documented.

For economy, yes. From 1999 to now, things are getting worse, not better. Unless you believe we really have 5.5% unemployment rate.
I have watched people around me. Many of my hard working friends have to move back to their southern small town after military service simply because there are no jobs here in southern california. Makes me wonder, if there are no jobs here in southern california, can they lend a job in southern states? Sadly these people joined military because they wanted to see the world, they didn't want to stuck in their small southern towns, now, they had to go back because they couldn't afford living in southern california? One bedroom apt (600 square feet) will easily cost you $1200/month. Public school in poor neighborhood is a joke. So if you have kids, you have to move to a better neighborhood, many parents simply cannot afford it. Fair? I think not.
My two ex boyfriends are software engineers. Both are very talented. Both of their projects have been moved to India. Sure, they still have a job, but they don't know anything about their future.
Some people need manufacture factory works, they want to see improvement in their daily life. This is the reality.
Take Downey for example, used to be a solid middle class neighborhood, used to be the home of the carpenters. Now, it is a dumping ground of third world poor immigrants and violent gangs.
Nobody is saying Trump is perfect, but he is a risk worth taking in my opinion.
