No, Trump does not have the right core message
- "law and order" police state, ***** your civil rights
- isolationism, tariff barriers, repeal trade deals
- bully with the US military to make the world "respect" us
- default on the US gov't debt
- don't trust any Muslim at home or abroad

His core message is fear.

Anyone else feel like the core message is sound but the messenger to flawed to take it over the line?
This very failing could turn out to be his strength. If and only if he can own up to being just a little bit impulsive and careless in how he speaks at times. It is not weakness to do so. In fact it shows character and a desire to serve the people. This is a golden chance for him to present himself as an everyman who decided to enter politics to clean it up.To be believed he can do so, he must first show he can clean up his own act. Some humility is badly needed. Above all else a sense of grace under pressure. Right now Trump is appearing too stiff and not flexible enough to act on good advice. Unless he makes the change and continues to act like he owns the show, he will be beaten by Hillary.

At a very basic level, most people would be afraid of a president , the most powerful office in the world, who would attack everyone and anything without discrimination. If he is like this as the presidential nominee, what on earth will he be like with the power he craves so badly. He does not drink alcohol, a good and bad thing, though he certainly seems drunk with power. Trump needs to lighten up a little and show some sense of humor. His addiction seems to be from the buzz that comes from having the final say always. He fails to realize you can be in command but to maintain that position , one needs to show deference to those who put you there. Trump can attack his political foes as much as he wants. This is great political theater for us all. But what is it after?. So rattled and bent out of shape, he can't calm down enough to show some grace to thank the soldier who gave him his purple heart without being a smart aleck about the whole thing. Can he not understand that people are just trying to be nice. A welcome respite from the war of politics. The optics could not have been worse.

If we see more of the same behavior over the next few months, many including myself, will probably just go independent. Trump is now under the spotlight. Can he makes the necessary adjustments, it is not difficult to do so, or does he continue on as is. If he does elect to act like he does, he is not getting my vote. He forgets everyone from left wing commentators to conservatives alike are baffled at how he has the advantage but single mindedly is out to destroy it.
