Actually, from the sources I've been reading (CNN,CNBC etc.) the 1 million dollar claim is accurate (unless you can show a CREDIBLE source showing otherwise).
What he doesn't talk about is the clout that came along with Dad AND his connections that helped him on his way. Those were worth more than any cash infusion you and others are trying to claim he got.
No one is trying to "claim" anything - it is fact - multipleeight-figure loans/bailouts and loan guaranties from Fred and the family - the list is long:

Moreover, Trump’s claim that he built a real-estate fortune out of a “small” $1 million loan is simply not credible. He benefited from numerous loans and loan guarantees, as well as his father’s connections, to make the move into Manhattan. His father also set up lucrative trusts to provide steady income. When Donald Trump became overextended in the casino business, his father bailed him out with a shady casino-chip loan—and Trump also borrowed $9 million against his future inheritance. While Trump asserts “it has not been easy for me,” he glosses over the fact that his father paved the way for his success — and that his father bailed him out when he got into trouble.
That fact that so many saw something totally different from what you just described should scare the crap out of the rest of the us. How can so many people be so delusional? This is the true danger to our nation.
I don't get it either. It's baffling that anyone can watch how Trump behaved last night, how he acted like a whiny 12 year old rambling about incoherent topics with practically no accurate knowledge, and still think such an unstable child should be given the keys to the nukes is one of those major mysteries like What's the meaning of life or why is there evil.
What in god's name was that word salad that dribbled out of Trump's head last night?
What in the hell is this? Everything he says turns out this way with his fourth grade-level vocabulary - and that's an insult to fourth graders. Hillary may be a crooked politician, but at least she can string a coherent thought together. It's clear who the real loser of the debates was: the English language.

Look, having nuclear — my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, okay, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, okay, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the smartest people anywhere in the world — it’s true! — but when you're a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune — you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged — but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are (nuclear is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what's going to happen and he was right — who would have thought?), but when you look at what's going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it’s four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don't, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us.
- The great linguist, aka Donald Trump
Ok, so translation to those of you with critical thinking skills: The Iran deal was bad for the USA.
But along the way, he has to muse about his uncle's education, his own education, the power of nuclear energy, prisoners, and the intelligence of women. No evidence of anything to support his argument, just all this random ****.
Right up there when he started telling us that we have to get "very, very tough" on "the cyber" and then started rambling like a drunk about how good his ten year-old son is with computers.
But he's a genius, I tell you! A genius! Just ask his cult! Smartest man in the world, according to them.
In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
