Hmm wonder why? Maybe because he's done a horrible job as Mayor. The city of L.A is now internationally known for being the homeless capital of America with tent cities all over.

It's ridiculous he thinks he would stand a chance against Trump in 2020.

---

A Stanford University poll released Thursday showed only 5 percent of Californians would L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti if he ran for president in 2020.
U.S. Senator Kamala Harris was favored by 19 percent of those polled, while Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, a candidate for Governor, garnered 10 percent support.

He has described himself as an authentic American representing those who are opposed to the policies of President Donald Trump.
“We’ve got somebody who is playing with our lives in the White House — who doesn’t care what the price of soybeans are; who doesn’t care if that steel is more expensive for our carpenters,” Garcetti said. “He’s disconnected and he’s divisive. We, on the other hand, are people who care.”

Plus the D's in California care more about illegals and criminals than law abiding citizens and legal immigrants

That is certainly the perspective held by many and if you were to ask a liberal about this they would respond that the Dems care about people in general BUT I would then ask, then why don't you care about the homeless in LA and the gang warfare in other cities that see young people die everyday? Their response to that would be no doubt, Wellll Trump is a racist...

Seriously though. The country is witnessing the failures of Democratic plans and schemes in the test tube of Liberal ideals in the state of California. Anyone that is seeking higher office from that state should run on the platform of "look what is going on and I plan on doing the opposite".

John Cox , a Republican running for CA Governor is actually doing better than Villagrosss , a Democrat and former mayor of L.A

It’s weird more people don’t realize that it’s liberal policies failing the state but so many have been brainwashed by media to think if they vote Republican it makes them racist or supporting racists . Many of them really think this way .
It’s pathetic .

If Cox comes in second, he'll be slaughtered by Newsom. I guess there's an advantage to having a Republican up for governor to help down ballot races, but it's otherwise bad money after good if Cox gets in. Villaraigosa voters aren't going to vote for Cox in November.

California is waking up and realizing that liberal policies don't work.

It has NOTHING to do with liberal or conservative and EVERYTHING to do with more people wanting to live there than there is housing available, that is apolitical

Where? Here on city-data or out in the real world because from where I'm standing, it seems like it's business as usual when it comes to voting a liberal into office. Even Newsom said he'll carry on the Brown legacy which means more taxes, go ahead plans for the water tunnel, high speed rail, mandatory solar on new homes, sanctuary state and just about everything that Brown endorsed.

Get rid of millions of illegals and there will be plenty of housing. And less traffic!
