"It is not the function of the FBI director to be making public pronouncements about an investigation, never mind about an investigation based on evidence that he acknowledges may not be significant," Akerman added. "The job of the FBI is simply to investigate and to provide the results of its investigation to the prosecutorial arm of the U.S. Department of Justice. His job is not to give a running commentary about any investigation or his opinion about any investigation. This is particularly egregious since Secretary Clinton has no way to respond to what amounts to nebulous and speculative innuendo.

Comey's hit job on Clinton is partisan and unprofessional. Dirty politics.
Dirty politics and pretty typical of Republicans. Happens every election about this time.

It's a shame that the FBI director is caught up in such nasty business.

Be interesting to see where his career goes from here.

If it weren't significant he wouldn't have reopened the investigation. He is just playing it close to the vest by keeping quite while he erects the cross and builds the bonfire to burn the witch at the cross.
Amazing news, hillary is going to jail.. There is a God....

Oh that's right! All the early voters that Hillary begged for, could they get their votes nulified? Wow. Talk about buyers remorse.

Should we start a backpeddler list thread?

"Swift boating" has come to be synonymous with, "ugly, unprincipled slander" for political purposes.

But this was hardly the first time Republicans used this strategy..

Republican Senator Joe McCarthy lent his name to the practice of reckless and unsubstantiated accusations of subversion and treason.

Lee Atwater perfected the art of the smear campaign. Even he knew how vile he was. When he was near death, he begged forgiveness for the atrocities he did in the name of the Republican party.

Newt Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh, Karl Rove, Fox News, Breitbart ... and now, sadly, the FBI.

Americans are used to by now.

Sigh.
Kinda sounds like Hillary's trying to do with Trump. ^^^
