Haha very little has changed love

The overwhelming majority of the states that carry this country on their backs are in fact, blue states that voted for Hillary Clinton.

How telling.

Why does California need to remain a part of a country that despises us and our values?

Let us take our technology, our media, our agriculture, our finance, our dynamic and booming $2.5 Trillion economy, our world class universites and scientific research institutions, our cultural, political and economic influence, and we'll be on our merry way.

Quite frankly, we dont need you and claim to not care or need us, so you can stay with great states like Mississippi and West Virginia and we can negotiate our own trade agreements with China and Europe.

Please.
Just remember, there are not enough wambulances in California to pull this off.

You'll get over this in a few weeks, and life will return to normal, but you could probably pull off a good side hustle selling California Secession caps and t-shirts on Amazon.

Think up a good logo, contact some Chinese manufacturers, and go make yourself some bucks.

By the way, don't try to piggyback on the Cascadia Movement, we don't want Southern California.
Anything south of Lassen peak don't count.

Yes, President Elect Donald J. Trump won, he beat Hillary Clinton fair and square and there's nothing you or any other left wing putz can do about it.

I live in a Red state that contributes more than it takes, I also respect people who live in "flyover states" because their votes and their states mean just as much as yours do.

Yes, the people chose Hillary Clinton but the flawed system chose Donald Trump.

Popular Vote 2016
Hillary Clinton 59,938,290
Donald Trump 59,704,886

This is the 2nd time in 4 elections that the will of the people has been circumvented.

California needs to secede in order to secure that the will of the people is to be respected.

Why didn't you want to secede before now. Why not when Obama was in office if, as you say, it's about governing yourselves and all that? Really, this is just sour grapes about your preferred candidate losing the election, isn't it? That's childish.

Here's good plan:

Let California go, they say, so here are the Steps:

1) Help every gun owner, and anyone else in CA leave CA if they want to.
2) Close every federal government office, and military base.
3) Remove every scrap of military hardware.
4) Any military person who wants to stay gets an honorable discharge.
5) Put up a fence, and border crossings on the states eastern borders
6) Cut off all federal funding.
7) Unhook them from the national power grid.
8) Remove their access to the US Internet, and satellites.
9) Ship all the illegal immigrants to California first.
10) Warn them if they try any shenanigans well hit the San Andreas fault with a cruise missile.

After that we can sit back and watch as Mexico swallows them up, the cartels move in and convert the Napa Valley to the biggest Coca plantation, or Pot Grow in history.

Now, fast forward:

It's 2024, and California has finally managed to secede.

Conservatives crush liberals in the ballots of the new, 49-state USA, electing Donald Trump Jr in the 2024 presidential elections, while the newly-formed California Republic is under President Nancy Pelosi, with Judge Curiel as head of the Corte Suprema.
Schoolchildren from San Diego to Redding pledge allegiance every morning to the new CA Republic flag, a Rainbow banner with a bear on it replacing the California Grizzly.

The new republic of California has a progressive, non-binary gender-bending army, wearing rainbow camo uniforms 11 months per year, and pink and fushia camo unis on breast cancer commemoration month.
It would be run by non-cisgendered *****-friendly generals.

On the first spring following the California Secession, Mexico, which is still reeling from the double whammy from having all its modern factories moved back to Detroit, Dayton, Pittsburgh et al, and having to pay for the wall on top of that, would claim back ownership of the Golden State on cinco de mayo.
The Mexican army consisting of a dozen tanks and a horde of 15,000 lowered El Caminos from the Norteño militia barges into SoCal and rolls up Highway 1.
After some heated skirmishes in the urban canyons of San Francisco culminating in the Battle of the Castro against the dykes on bikes Mobile Motor Brigade, the Soldados and Norteños' control of the Golden State is complete and by ocho de mayo there are more bad hombres in chinos and plaid flannel shirts around Eureka than redwoods.

El capital is moved back to Monterey, the Capitol in Sacramento is turned into an large indoor bullfighting arena. Vincente Fox is appointed Gobernador for life.

Funny stuff. Lord, I apologize for that one there, and please be with all the starving Pygmies down there in New Guinea! Amen!

No it isn't, you're just too stupid to understand our Constitution.

This is a longstanding conversation. The tipping point is Donald Trump. He does not represent our values, his policies are dangerous and really, his supporters have mainstreamed such abhorrent things as selfishness, racism, xenophobia, misogyny, religious bigotry and good ole boy cronyism.

California is the anithesis of all of that.

We really should have a serious conversations about how it benefits us to remain a part of the United States versus howvmuch better it would be to govern ourselves.

For example, Nationalized Health Care is a top priority imo. That will never happen in the US.

Obama's values are not scary. He inherited an economy in a shambles and presided over the recovery and our current economic prosperity.

Donald Trump's proposals to ban muslims, to deport 11 million illegals and build a wall are unforgivably unacceptable to the vast majority of Californians.

After a while, it becomes clear that we are too far at odds with too many other states for California to remain part of this 'union'.

Donald Trump, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell are not representative of California at all and they get to allocate our $400-$500 billion a year that we send to DC?

That doesnt sit well with me at all.

Haha are you joking? "Childish" is a 70 year old man mocking the disabled, making lewd comments about women, being incapable of restraint etc.

There is nothing remotely childish about wanting independence from what is devolving into a tyrannical overlord 3,000 miles away.
