Not to mention that college graduates are still a distinct minority in the US, outnumbered about 2 or so to 1 by non-college graduates.

Also, I believe I saw where Trump won something like 54% of White male and 48% of White female college graduates. That's not a bad place to be.

Especially one that took 8 years to get a degree because he/she didn't want to work ...

There is no denying that there was a difference in educational levels between those who voted for Hillary vs Trump. His supporters try to spin it as "Well, those colleges are putting Liberal ideas into those kids heads !" () but the fact is, college grads are just a little smarter than the average non college educated person. They tend to THINK things through, and not take everything that is thrown at them as facts.

Trump supporters tend to see college as Kryptanite.

Or the college students often shown on late night shows who don't know who the V.P. is, or who we fought in the Revolutionary War, or who FDR was, or who cannot find Europe on a map.

But they ALL know who Snooki and JWoww are!!

Makes sense.

Behind Trump's victory: Divisions by race, gender and education | Pew Research Center

In the 2016 election, a wide gap in presidential preferences emerged between those with and without a college degree. College graduates backed Clinton by a 9-point margin (52%-43%), while those without a college degree backed Trump 52%-44%. This is by far the widest gap in support among college graduates and non-college graduates in exit polls dating back to 1980. For example, in 2012, there was hardly any difference between the two groups: College graduates backed Obama over Romney by 50%-48%, and those without a college degree also supported Obama 51%-47%.

Who knew that all of those welfare recipients (the Democrat base) were so educated?!

The things you learn on CD!

Are those the same smart college educated grads that don't know who the current vice president is and who think the Civil War was won by the British?

Trump beat Clinton among white college grads. I didn't bother looking, but maybe Clinton won among female and Muslim college grads, Trump among male and Evangelical grads. If all this slicing and dicing the demographics and implied insulting of Trump voters make you feel better, have at it for the next four years.

There has been change--it's called technology. Face facts. What they need is retraining or more training. High paying lower skill manufacturing jobs are not coming back. Trade wars, protectionism and a wall will not make life better for someone in the rust belt. It will make it more expensive though.

If Congress had not obstructed Obama's infrastructure spending bills--there would have been a lot more of those jobs now.

Didn't you hear, Hillary lost, so no worries about the fox in the chicken house!

He has no intention of dumbing down higher education, if that is possible. A higher education doesn't make one smart or give them commonsense thus the many higher educated selling real estate, insurance and working at the big box store.

Pew has a total slant to their "politics", and I realized that some months ago. Strange how those "higher educated" didn't come to realize that when comparing what Pew was saying to real life scenarios.

Someone college educated unless willing to work outside their field "Would you like fries with that?", falls short of those blue collar workers. At least the blue collar worker was realistic about the world of work.

Ah, "professional" student. Probably attending on loans they could never pay back and now hoping to have them forgiven and the taxpayer just pick up the cost, the blue collar worker.

Lots of time to watch TV/internet after graduating while waiting for loan forgiveness since there aren't jobs in their field.

Well, an education isn't worth much unless it gets them a job. Many are not able to find a job in their field and find the thought of physical labor repulsive because, after all, they have "degree".
