It never ceases to amaze me how both democrats and republicans give a free pass to a president, as long as it's someone from their own party.

If "their" president does something they criticized in a president from the other party, you hear the sound of silence. But let a president from the other party do the same things, and people suddenly find their voice again.

Here at least, is a democrat who is self-aware for a change.

I don't think "party" or someone being "their President" holds the weight that it used to. I'll be just as critical of Trump as I have been with Obama if Trump stumbles all over himself too.

Excuse me, but I'm a Democrat who, LIKE MOST DEMOCRATS I KNOW, has been deeply unhappy with many things that Obama has done.

You are perhaps confusing the posts in a forum - where attacks from Republicans are so extreme and crazy that we are cut off from reasonable discussion - with actual Democrat opinions.

Most who say this voted to re-elect him anyway. A politician cares less how much you disagree with him as long as you are willing to cast a vote for them.

Believe me I'll be watching Trump closely and criticizing when necessary. Democrats are in general much more emotional than republicans (except many Trump supporters were obnoxiously emotional during his campaign) so it's fun watching emotional people who don't know how to think outside the box or see things from another person's perspective squirm and get all angry/offended.

The major problem Democrats faced was not criticizing Obama more. If they did , the Blue Wall would not have crumbled the way it did. Contrast that to Trump voters who will be more objective to the record of the pres elect. Not afraid to speak up and demand answers if the need arises. This can be only good for Trump. Feedback from his base as well as listening to their concerns was crucial to his election win. The winning formula Democrats will struggle to understand for years to come.

The democrats biggest problem.... well, I don't want to help them... I don't like helping racist people who hide behind diversity slogans...
