This is what the left has become. for the last 10 years, the dems have been running to the left while claiming the right has gone extremists. that side has just gone truly nuts.
^^^^^This. However, they've been going down this road for more like fifty years, not ten. The Republicans are NOT smart enough to pull off something like the election of an extreme, far left radical like Cortez. She is a reflection of the continuing march of Democrats, now mainstream Democrats towards Communism in an attempt to become Venezuela.

The democrats are mostly center right with a few exceptions. Heck in California which is a blue state the Dems act just like Republicans.

She is certainly a wild eyed (literally) utopian, communist. The problem is the Dems have quickly moved in her direction over the years, so she fits right in with the DNC leadership. These people are not interested in moving to the center, and making deals to get partially what they seek. Instead, like Obama, they are pure idealists. Their extreme way, or the highway. No middle ground. And they say the Republicans are obstructionist.

I think you need to stop drinking this early in the morning. the democrats stopped being center right when they kicked Joe Lieberman out of the party.

Quite frankly, she represents one Congressional district in New York. A district I am sure nobody outside of said district had ever heard of before she won. She has some crazy ideas. She ain't the first. Is she was not as cute as she is, I doubt the media would be swooning over her. Whatever.

Now, if she ever challenges Schumer for his seat, that will be a spectacle.

Why would the gop plant the farthest left candidate in a race they have nearly no chance of winning. That makes no sense. If it was a purple district, there may be some reasoning that a far left candidate would lose to a conservative or centrist. Not here.

There’s a significant amount of liberals who lean socialist and they will start to pick up a few representatives here and there.

There aren’t two democratic congressman who are legitimate left us, meanwhile the freedom caucus effectively controls the house of representatives. So, yes the GOP has shifted radically to the right
