I prefer the MLK quote basis. Judge by content of character, not by color of skin.

ONLY = you judge at least partly on demographics.

I stand against that, adhering to the MLK principle.

More proof that cons are hypocrites.

Who prevented anyone of color to enter the race? Cory Booker and Kamala Harris were obviously not discouraged.

I dunno. Maybe they're being kept down by The Man?

The right has been bullying women, black, LGBT, Muslims and other minorities for years. That's the main reason there are very few within the GOP. It's worse under Trump. It's obvious that the left is more attractive to what the country represents in 2019. The GOP is trying their hardest to recruit more women. It will be even more difficult to recruit women to the GOP with Trump's radical stand on women's rights.

Why does skin color, race, gender, and sexual orientation matter with any candidate? Do people think they should or will get special treatment if their physical characteristics align with the candidate's?

a male, 76 year old, Caucasian, career politician's popularity among Dem voters, according to all Dem presidential nominee polls, is ironic given the democratic party constantly touts its youth, 'wokeness', and diversity.

There are many factors that go into voting for a candidate, correct? People want a candidate that represents some of their experiences, values, political agenda, moral, etc. Maybe not all but at least some of those qualities. How can anyone that supports Trump speak to CONTENT OF CHARACTER? That's the most hypocritical statement on this thread. If you stand for the content of character you must not be a Trump supporter. Everyone that is running against him, whether GOP or Democrat, has more character.

That's the great thing about the Democrats. The party appeals to people of all backgrounds and character. Trump's GOP....not so much. That's the reason the GOP hit at it so much, they can't attract the same character in their party in large numbers.
