Because Democrats are obsessed with identity politics and trying to be divisive. They have been this way for decades with Saul Alinsky type of rub it raw mentality, but it was mostly in the closet. Now it is on full display, and they will eat their own to try and be more to the left than the others.
Don't even go there, Trump supporter. No Trump supporter has a right to breathe a word accusing anyone of "being divisive." Trump is the most divisive president we have ever had, Republican or Democrat. He has done nothing but divide this country from minute one. Illegals vs legals, transgender vs everyone else, LGBT vs straight, Christian vs other religions, male vs. female, American vs foreigners, his simplistic narrow minded view of humanity is worse than that of a third grader.
Back to the subject at hand, since this thread quickly derailed. Many people again have forgotten than biracial people black/white are white as well as black. Obama was white. He was not just black. He was as white as he was black. Same for Kamala Harris. Corey Booker even has Caucasian roots. In terms of identity, biracial individuals should not be only described as black. That is inaccurate.
I believe Joe Biden is a terrible candidate for one reason above all others: he is too old. If he won office, he will be 78 at the time of inauguration. The chances of him or Trump dying in office are much greater than a Kamala Harris, Corey Booker, or Peter Buttigieg. I don't think we should vote based on identity politics. But age should certainly be a consideration just because of the person's health. We do not need someone in office who has one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel.
No comment was ever more deserved. This was after Trump made comment after comment that was considered uncouth. It was after he attacked the mother of a dead war veteran. It was after the Hollywood Access Tape came out.
Trump has made so many crude and revolting statements since he ran for office that you can't even keep track of them.
The amazing thing about Trump though is that he's the only person in the country that "gets a pass" on uttering crude and bigoted comments. His supporters are so bent that they will deliberately ignore anything this man does wrong literally because he will put who they want on the Supreme Court.

True, Harris stands the greatest chance of dying from a newly acquired STD though.

Many of us would like to give him two black eyes.
My takeaway from this post is the same thing as always: people love to take Trump to task for his rude and crude behavior *almost* as much as they love using his behavior as an excuse to act out in similar fashion themselves. There are daily examples of this kind of hypocrisy that illustrate just how prevalent this behaviorism is. You yourself admonish the POTUS, then dream out loud your wish of violence upon him. How are your own values any better than his?
Mature adults stick to their own standards of behavior regardless of the actions of others. That’s what real character is.

You've just stated that the President has no character. But we knew that already.
I suppose I am lowering my own standards of behavior by replying the way I did. The difference is that I'm not running for President. I have a right to expect more out of someone who is. That's a real simple distinction that is missed by Trump defenders.

He doesn’t have much character. I’m not a Trump supporter. I’m also not a Trump despiser.
If only that were true. Identity politics is the law of the democratic party. Obama may have been popular but was nominated because of his skin color and many a people voted for him for that and "to be part of history". Same with Hillary. Her gender played a major role in her nomination. Qualifications be damned.
